Yo B-boy stealth I try to help you. 1. Your legs: Keep'em always straight and open(V shape) 2. Your hands are too far away from your head, this makes you tilt a little bit.
So keep'em close to your head and when you get more control over your headspin just tap the ground with your fingertips.
Hope that helps a little
keep on rocking

Headspin Pointers - 09-09-2007, 02:48 PM

'Sup Stealth, that's not a bad effort! Like Rabbit says, stay on your fingertips,
not flat hands, that helps alot. people do stuff different ways, so these next tips
are just pointers, not cut an' dried! You start with your legs in what i call the
"running" position ( as opposed to a"v") so keep 'em like that instead of opening them to a v. I started with the "v" but found "running" better. Try it, if it don't
work, no sweat, go back to the "v". IF you do go back to the "v", don't keep
your legs straight in the air, think of it more as "sitting down" upside down, bring
your feet down a bit (keep legs apart) and push your ass back. Hope this made
sense! It's kinda hard to explain in writin'! One more thing ( fuck me! i
sound like Columbo!) it sounds a bit harsh but ditch the helmet and get a ski hat/beanie, and pad it, you'll get a better "feel" for where the best spot on your dome is! Hope this helps, peace.

Yo BBG,
Try lowering that "V" almost to a sittin' position (see my answer to stealth above!)
I'll try an explain better. Your avatar picture shows you (?) on your head with one
leg out and the other bent across. For the "sitting" position i'm talkin' about, imagine BOTH legs were straight out BUT STILL parted in a v, then push your ass
out (back) for counter balance. Hope this helps.
Peace.

ight cool, cool.. lets try and keep in contact with our progress.. and thanx.. good luck with the regular beanie.. maybe just all the floors i use suck lol but reg beanies just never did it for me.. they frusterated me a lot.. and as for oldschool, i wlil definantly try that! but all the info guides ive seen have had their V's higher up.. not in sitting position and say never to bring ur legs below waist level.. i get the kind of position you mean, and is that actually easier your saying then if ur V is way up high? because u have to shift balance on ur head to get in the position, as u probably know, so it might be more unfamiliar at first, but if u say its easier, then ill def try it

Yo BBG, you don't need to lower your legs below your waist, needs to be @ 45 degrees, slightly bent at knee. This helps more with glide/float spins, spinning
a bit slower. As i said before, everyones different but it wont harm to give it a
go. I know people who use a straight up v and it's fine for them, just didn't
work for me!

Ideally, you should work on tappin', but start with a little swing for momentum.
that said, again, try both. Just keep pluggin' away. Took me a while to get to
where i am now, still not perfect, but i'm gettin' there! I'm gettin' some good
rotations but it's still a bit hit an' miss,i'll hit one dope one, two shit ones, one
dope one etc, just gotta get it dope every time!

Peace

I have to add, in this time i've tried every combination of leg positions, tappin',
swingin' etc. Just stick with the bits that work for you.

Peace

k i feel you.. the only thing im scared of.. is that if i get them with my legs down in v like that.. that it will be hard to get them any other way cuz i will be set in that one position.. or will it be easier because ill have the balance/ thought process for it down aalready?

Personally, i don't think it'll make it any harder to get them any other way but
that's just my opinion. As i said, keep tryin' different ways. Keep the bits that
work and ditch the ones that don't. I may be wrong, but if you eventually want
extended rotations, your legs need to come down a bit anyway. I've never seen
anyone do a long spin with their legs straight up in a v.
