Jackhammer help - 02-12-2007, 06:45 AM

Hey i've been training jackhammers for over half a year now (including 2 months i had to take off for injuries), i need major help as i seem to improve alot slower then i would have thought.

the first few months i didnt really see any improvement and i trained them every second day AT LEAST, if not that, more. After a while i saw a bit of improvement and i actually fluked a good 5 jackhammers around November, on that very day i crashed a flip bad and busted my shoulder, preventing me to break for nearly 2 months. I've been back into jackhammers for the past 4-5 weeks, training them every day and im getting so stressed out over them. I can do crickets a lot better now but i seem to have gotten worse at jackhammers, barley being able to get the second jack in. and to top that off, in the past week i've been feeling burning in the top of my hand when doing jacks and i cant train them properly.
I need lots of help badly, I dunno why they are taking so long as i have dedicated myself to the move A LOT (considering i cant use any left or both handed power moves right now due to another injury, i decided to train jacks as its one of the few power moves i can train atm).
If anyone had similar problems or can help me, please, any help is extremly appreciated

did you break any bones? broken bones are always bad, i broke my left elbow when i was 12, it took me 2 and half years to fully recover, i had problems extending, problems with my tricep strength.. my right arm was like twice the size of my left and the doctor said ill never be able to extend my left arm as much as my right arm, bullshit!, i can extend my left arm as much as my right arm now and got just as much strength.

if you have problems moving your shoulder u should go see a physiotherapist, Stretch everyday and Workout those muscles as much as possible

it seems like you practice too much without taking time to rest and recuperate.

i may be wrong, but i think i read somewhere that resting not only strengthen muscles, but it also helps muscle memory set in. am i wrong?
