Cool Rib Problems and...I CAN'T START MY WINDMILLS!! - 01-03-2007, 11:06 PM

Hey Guys...I have started break dancing for about 2 - 4 weeks now and i am able to get into the hangglide position, collapse, and spin with one hand, and i am now starting on the cricket. I was just wondering why my ribs hurt, when i inhale it hurts, maybe im stabbing wrong??? i can't figure out why so an answer would be helpful AND i can't start my windmill whenever i kick my right leg (CW) i seem to fall. A couple of pointers would be well appreciated. Hopefully i can upload you some clips of me breaking some dance. keep it cool

your ribs hurt when you inhale while stabbed? or unstabbed?
also describe the pain in your ribs for me.

for your windmill problem I'd lean more onto your right hand in the stab before you collapse that'll lift your left leg up and give your right leg more room to sweep under.
I'd also reccomend reading jwang's windmill guide in the windmill section if you haven't already.

don't take big breaths
take small ones
and don't stab your hand in the middle of the abs...

i have kinda the same thing... im pretty sure its just from stabbing too much. just lay off stabbing for a while and it should be better. stab sparingly.

and u can always try starting windmills a different way and just dont do em stabbed. try forearm mills or something...

well this might be useful, a while back i did the cricket freeze everyday for a week for about, i dno 2 hours? lol i was showing off, yeah and for a while after that the bottom rib on the side i stab felt really funny when i pushed my ribs as far out or in as they would go, i think this is because i had stabbed for so long i had actually slightly pushed the rib in a bit, i don't feel that anymore, so it could have gone back to its normal position or i could have jst got used to it being in a funny position

either way it doesn't show and doesn't affect me at all if its still like that
