nothing on head = being fine as long as u dont allow floor to twist and catch
beanie on head = getting use to it, same thing u dont want the beanie to catch on the floor and have u spin inside the beanie
helmets = cheating, only good in the lab, go to a battle with a helmet and get laughed at....u can do the most insane combo, u put on a helmet and uve lost half the oomph to it
Dont bite the hand that feeds u, eventually everyone helping u will get annoyed...jesus.
Beginners giving beginners tips without understanding what they are saying is probally one of the worst ways to spread KNOWLEDGE.....which is the key to anything in life.

it helps to learn a lil, it gives u a bigger balance sport thats in the right area for most heads....unfortunately transfering from helmet to no helmet can sometimes get a lil tricky because its different

well.. helmets are pretty lame, a lot of peeps think of it as a cheat or something. im ok with it. but yeah, you should learn without helmet. heres what i think
short hair = learn with nothin
medium - long hair = beanie time.

actually longer hair inside a beanie tends to spin inside the beanie which is worse for ur hair
helmets are fine to learn with, helmets for the lab, without helmets for events

well i've been working with a nylon beanie and its startin to work. i still have problems with actually getting the beanie to spin with my head. i can do two good spins if im feeling lucky and then my head slides in my cap. i got a smooth surface for my headspins but i still dont know why the beanie is being such a bitch. i used to use a regular beanie with a nylon beanie under it but i saw that other bboys could use the nylon without an extra beanie. but neways yeah, the story of my life.

Anubis,
In the many battles I have witnessed ( And joined in ) I have seen over a dozen guys wear helmets in battles and kick the shit out of other people without losing any respect. Helmets are just safety aids, if you got skill it doesn't really matter what you wear as long as its YOUR style and ORIGINAL. Don't mimic other people's move in a battle, it will get you bitch slapped. Also, knee pads / elbow pads are fine in battles. They prevent you from getting hurt and usually won't restrict your moves. ( Although some moves they will)
Peace Out,
B-Boy Moocher
