Yo I practice for at least two to three weeks on balancing and doggie paddling... The first week is to find that sweet spot which is usually dead center on your head were that dent be at... and find a permanent position for legs that makes you feel comfortable before you spin my legs are bent in the front and back.... your spot and leg position could be different though... then when you can hold it forever and I mean forever then you go to the doggie paddle .... spread your legs and make sure that they don't pass your hips when your doggie paddling.... dont whip your legs at all straight hand action master these steps first... when your spinning make sure that your body is tense especially your neck... but after a while it will become natural.... practice with a helmet please do not I repeat do not practice without a helmet.... reason because you will experience a lot of pain on your spinning spot depending on how much you practice.... and trust me you will feel it when you take a shower... when you are ready to learn how to tap holla at me cuz that and letting go are really the hardest part of headspining...I've been breaking for seven years and I am still a noob cause of my weak body but In those injuries I have progressed a lot I just cant do like 25 flares or spin for 10-15 minutes on my head... keep trying don't give, it took me the whole summer to tap forever in headspins and I was putting in some work... 5 hours a day(Buy a helmet or feel da pain of death) it might be different for ya but keep hope alive
