wutup this is bboy wicket and this is my guide to headspins aight
now as every1 nos a headspin is when ur spinning on ur head and its obviously all about balance. remember that this is a guide for a counter clock wise headspin.
Prequisites:
1. first of all u should be able to hold a headstand for a long time like i mean 2-3 minutes at a time this is a must and u will not be able to do headspins without headstands.
2. Next protection now this is entirely up to u, some people think that a beanie is better, sum think that a helmet is better, in my opinion a helmet is good for practising and starting off, but when u get better u should use a beanie. for extra protection u can wear a bandana underneath the beanie.
3. now ur position. okay u should be in a headstand with ur hands just a bit in front of ur face and they should be pointed to the back of ur head. Now ur legs should be in a V pattern as this keeps ur balance and momentum going. also u have to remember that ur hands are there for balance and not to hold urself up, practically all of ur weight should be on ur neck and head.
GUIDE:
1. Okay now step one, go into a headstand and get ur balance put ur hands pointed liek i told u in prequisites, now wut u wnt to do to get used to spinning is walk urself around in a circle with ur hands u should be able to just keep walking around in a circle remember to keep ur legs in a V. now u should be able to do this for a few spins at least and not fall.
2. Next, step 2, now ur going to do a real spin, okay go into a headstand and put ur legs in a V(remember this is a CCW guide)
twist ur legs clockwise a bit, not to spin, but to gain more kicking power, when ur hips start to clench up unwind them and kick them counterclock wise, at the time when ur legs are starting to turn ur hips, quickly flick counterclockwise with ur hands and bring them off the ground, u should be sent spinning. catch urself with ur hands. congrats u got ur first headspin. remember ur legs have to be kept in a V pattern as this keeps ur momentum.
3. Now this next part is only worth doing when u have part 2 down pat. u should be able to spin and catch urself WITHOUT falling. u cant just do a spin then fall. u need to be in a headstand after. k repeat step 2 and this time when u catch ur hands on the ground, keep swinging ur legs and when u feel ur hips start to turn, then flick again with ur hands and let go. this is called a tap.
4. aight now real bboys with good headspins do about 4-6 taps to get a full headspin. this has been bboy_wickets guide to headspins, its my first headspin guide so gimme a break if its not that good... gimme sum feedback on how this is aight.... peace
hey...you're guide seems helpful. ill try it out at practice tonight. my only question is when you catch yourself for a tap, what do you mean by swing your legs? do you have have to twist again?

neways when u mean balancing on ur head doo yoo mean that if u lift ur hands off da ground u can stay on ur head for more than wat five seconds or is it that u can balance using ur hands.
i mean for like at least 2 or 3 secs and then u can catch urself without falling, yah flips' elbow back handsprings are crazy, isiah is amazing on his hands his full twist was nice too.... peace

Nice Tutroial here....thanks. i wanted to ask you a question "does it matter where is your hand and how its on the ground. i mean i do my head spins where my hands and head in the same line.... and fingers are facing aways from my head. is that right?
yah ur hands are perf u just need to kick ur legs.... ur not swinging them, u are just having them sit there kick em hard, otherwise lookin good u got good balance........
