I'm not sure if this helps but i'll try to explain how i practice. I usually where a beenie and a hoodie jus fer the extra protection. Normally it doesn't get too much in the way but it don't matter cuz ur not gonna be seein nuthin but the ground. Anywayz i start off in a headstand but instead of on top of my head, i lean on my forehead and wit my hands, i pull on the ground in front of me. i hope that helps sumwat and srry if its hard to understand.

the way i do is i start in a push up position with my knees and elbows bent and forehead on the ground the i push forward with my legs and hands and glide that way. lots of speed youll probubly just flip over a couple of times when you first try it .

you cant spell crap without rap but what can you spell with hip hop

alright, i only started breakdancing about 3-4 months ago, but still the headspin is my favorite move to do.
i only just started using the head glide, but its awesome.
one thing you got to realize is, no fear.
u may think the second you pick your arms up your going to fall. but it really doestn hurt that much
i started with a helmet, now im down to 1-2 beanies.
use your arms for support as u slide, put them down if u think your going to fall, u can still slide with em on the floor.

im going to try to post this video, im not really sure if its gon work cuase its my first time but anyway.
the only real room with enough tile is my kitchen lol so i could only go about 2 feet plus its not even close to smooth so that just shows u its not hard to do.
i threw in a little head spin at the end but nothing crazy, didnt want to break anything
anyway here it goes hope it helps.

im getting there

headglides are ALOT easier than they look. as far as friction goes, i usta wear a hat but it really does get in the way. so do hoodies in my opinion. my hair works the best for me. like quicksteps said, start in the pushup. i push off with one foot tho and as i do this my other leg is raising upwards. just practice with baby pushes at first and catch urself then do it again. in a small matter of time you should be able 2 go pretty damn far. its all in the amount of force you put in, and how long ur legs stay up in the air for.

hoodies = death - 02-28-2004, 10:06 PM

id say its easiest with beanies...when i try it with a hoodie, it gets stuck to the ground and the hoodie starts coming off me cause it stops and i keep going...if you know what i mean

ive been practicing my head glides since that last post, and just for the record beanies can come loose and fall of, or gain friction and come down into ur eyes and become a distraction, there not as good as u would think
most people think ur head would recieve too much impact without them but its not really true.
if u have only a little hair id say use the beanie but if u have long hair, dont wear one u can slide better
i saw this one video with a guy who had dreds and he would do a headslide, plant his arms and could go in circles and back and forth im guessing becuase his hair was so thick.
so if u were thinking about growing ur hair long, this might just be another reason to do it peace

Head slides do not require any sort of beenies or hoodies or special positions..I myself just throw myself to the floor and the rest involves the scalp and the floor. if u wanna learn just take a piece of carboard and throw it in your backyard ,then stand up, run towards the board and dive your head diagnolly the rest is up to friction.!!!

when I do my headglides, i get on my hands and knees and put my forehead on the floor then kick my legs up and fowards and push off with my hands, i can go about 2-3 feet like this, haven't practiced them in a while though.

I did a headspin, several times, first try! Booyaa grandma!
