headspin risk factor? - 01-28-2004, 09:21 PM

arite I can headstand until i red-out no problem... so the next obvious step is headspinning right? weeeeeeell i'm kinda overcoming the fear factor right now, so I gotta ask. How much of a risk is it, doing a headspin? Like what are the chances you'll get injured? the surfaces i have to work with are either carpet or linoleum, and i have a toque if it would help. so seriously, should i just go for it and try it? or is it safer to do some neck workouts and work on it for a while (i kno my neck isn't very strong cuz i did 2 no-handed kip ups yesterday and my neck is KILLING me today) arite thanks all

if u can do a headstand.....I don't wat can stop u from spinning.....it is like stopping after a long journey!......if I were u,I won't stop and I will slowly tap to make myself spinning slowly to get the feel of the spinning effect.....after that, tap faster and PRESTO!....U are spinning!....so,don't stop and go for it...but slowly and cautiously....

Dude...i'ts pretty risky doing headspins on carpet...lino isn't much better for headspins, stretch your neck before doing them.

the risk of being injured while doin a headspin is really low, if u can do a headstand fo a long time. Okay first of all the only way u break ur neck is when ur falling one way and someone kicks ur body the other direction theb ur neck folds. But the thing is forget the risk or ull hesitate and screw up

your neck-muscles are very important while doing headspin. i guess, you have had much hurts in your neck after doing a headstand. the same will happen while your training your spin. do it slow and perfectly. i really train headspin since january 2004 and the spin goes faster and faster every day i train. so keep it up and start slow
