Red face Hand Gliding!!! (Help) - 01-24-2004, 05:49 PM

Can anyone tell me what i need to do to get handgliding right? I try and try but i don't think i'm gettin the balancing right... And i also think that i need to work out my upper body more... can anyone tell me wat parts of the body to work for handgliding?

u basically need more balance and speed.nth to train for.physics says tt speed gives u stable balance.work on them.i stab in the centre of the abs.pz

Ok first wats tts? And sencond yeh i find that if i stab right in the mid i get better balance.

First off I don't think you need to work out your upper body more unless you like 5'5 and 400 pounds (exaggeration people) Its basically all balance. For me I spin Counter-Clock Wise so I use my left arm to support my body. As some people say to put your elbow directly in the middle of your gut, I don't. I put my elbow a little to the left of my belly-button. As for the spinning part, before you start to do it with your feet off the ground just let your feet slide around the ground with your free arm pushing you in a circular motion but remember not to keep the weight on your feet. Once you feel comfortable letting your feet drag along, lift your legs higher and try spinning. Right after you master dragging your feet across the ground don't go too high just enough where you feel comfortable. Then once you start to gain your speed with your free hand pushing in a circular motion lift it off the ground but don't do this unless you have sufficient amount of speed.

I think that's all there is to it. If I left something out any of you other Bboys and Bgirls can fill in the blanks

u dont need any upper body strength really. its like a support, ur arm is a balancing point of balance n counter balance, nothing more.

ab strength would help but as long as u can do it and not be to hurt, ur fine

You have to stay at a common freeze for ar least 10 seconds before attemting the handglides. Practice it and you'll do it keep your legs open and a bit high from the ground. you can do it its not that hard.

Hey, i gotta a prob w/my handglides (i cant really call them that yet). I get how to do them but like when you balance, how close is your head supposed to be to the ground? cuz i hav to get it really low and then my legs are up to high but i cant seem to find newhere in the middle.

Ab strength is imporatant so when u stab on ur ab,it wont hurt that much and u can breath!
