Post Backspin Guide - 11-19-2003, 12:07 AM

There are two ways to start the backspin. I will describe both. Both are for CCW backspins.

Seated Position:

1. Sitting on the ground with your left leg bent and right leg straight, leaning on your left forearm.

2. Swing your right leg around and over your left leg in order to get momentum.

3. Once you are spinning, pull both legs in and make sure that you are on your upper back so that the least amount of your back is touching the ground (This way you can spin longer, and faster)

4. Hold your legs with you hand so that you are in a tight ball.

Note: I don't reccomend doing backspins this way, maybe just to get used to the feel. But this way you can't get much momentum and you can't use them as well in combo's.

Handglide Position:

1. In the hanglide position ( A one-handed turtle freeze, with your hand facing your feet. It should be your left hand BTW.)

2. Start to spin, push off with your right hand for momentum, use your feet if you have to give yourself a little bit of an extra push.

3. Once you are almost to the end of your hands flexibility, you should push your left leg out towards your right and turn towards your left, this should be almost like a collapse with momentum to help you spin.

4. Right when you are on your back, make sure you get onto your upper back.

5. Hold your legs in, so that you are in a tight ball.

The Pop Out:

When you are starting to lose momentum, or even before then, you can pop-out by doing this:

1. While you are spinning. Turn to the left and push up and out with your shoulder and arm.

2. You should start to straighten your legs at the same time. And you should land with your legs slightly wider than shoulder width apart.

A few things to keep in mind while doing backspins: Wear something slick like a wind-breaker to help you spin faster. Most of these move are done at the same time, so make sure you do the whole movement slowly.

If this guide was good let me know so I will be inspired to write more. If not, tell me how I can make it better.

If you start from the hanglide position, then yea it's just like the start of a windmill.

Well, the best I can say is. Try to practice the the freeze, just try practice holding in the position. Also, it's okay if while you are spinning if you use your feet slighty to help you balance, I mean just slightly. I think since you land on your chest it might have to do with balance.

Your probably not getting up high enough on your back, that was my problem at first.

I am not trying to discourage you guys in any way. But there is no such thing as learning fast. You can make it go faster with lotz and lotz of practice. But it won't be fast learning.

And as for more guides. PM me and let me know what kind of guides you guys want. I would be more than happy to help out.

Vin Diesel and the Internet - relation? I THINK SO

Vin Diesel invented the internet while trying to steal cable TV.

Contrary to popular belief, it was in fact Vin Diesel who invented the internet. Al Gore stole the designs when Vin fell asleep at his keyboard.
