well actually you spin on the most comfortable part of your head, so headstand for a while to find the most comfortable part of your head where you feel most balanced. For me its like the middle. And don't spin on your forhead!

damn! is headspin position supposed to hurt shoulders and head and neck and biceps? i think its just me i havnt been in shape for a long time and i need to know the best exercises to gain upper strength cuz i be gettin headaches after head spin position, first a start up near a wall and get in position and kick up so my legs go flying up and hit the wall, is this a good pos to start in?

EDIT: is rappers delight a good note to listen to when breakin?

EDIT AGAIN: when im up in the position and when i get down, i hear water in my head, is this good (lol)

practice is the only exercise u need, if ur learning them and ur out of shape its gonna hurt, even if ur in shape and u start from a stand still on ur head its gonna hurt so ull get use to it

edit 1 - yes
edit 2 - its the blood rushing

Dont bite the hand that feeds u, eventually everyone helping u will get annoyed...jesus.

Beginners giving beginners tips without understanding what they are saying is probally one of the worst ways to spread KNOWLEDGE.....which is the key to anything in life.

actuali i dun quite get what u mean abt taps.

this part. For taps you might wanna practice floating a little bit then sorta "throw" yourself by pushing your body with your hands.

?? can u elaborate further? and is it a must to tap b4 we spin?

leg position - 03-04-2004, 11:27 PM

yo... i've been practising headspins for a couple months now... and i'm gettin prett good at taps. i was wondering tho... like every other move in b-boyin, i have good days and bad days. sometimes i can balance really well... other days, it feels like i can't do shit. I feel like i may be positioning my legs differently sometimes... which is why i can't continue the spins. how SHOULD your legs be when you're doin taps? (i go CCW and my right leg is usually lower, and my left leg it close to vertical, it seems to give me momentum this way... and both legs are straight) pointers?

peace

p.s.... - 03-05-2004, 12:21 AM

spot... wtf man, concrete? that's the stupidest thing i've heard. find a dumpster... and get a square foot of cardboard. it won't hurt as much.

peace.

well the way u describe your leg position doesn't seem like for taps, that sounds like something closer to when u want to do a quick speedy drill. When you start out doing taps you should keep your legs spread for balance, and when you get good enough for balancing while spinning without using ur hands then bring your legs to vertical for fast drills
