dont tuck in so quickly. thats the reason why you're rocking back and forth. find your center of balance first. once you're on your balance point, THEN tuck your arms in.

^ yeah what he said. Remember too, that the less of your back taht touches the ground, the faster and longer you will spin. why do you think you can 90 or headspin so long (if you have the balance, of coures) without tapping to reset the momentum? cause almost none of your body touches the ground so there is less friction, allowing you to spin for a long time. as for controlling the spins, the way you get into them requires somewhat more practice to NOT lose your center of balance when spinning. just cause of the setup. also, don't rush it. learn to hold out unti lyou find your balance, then tuck. you won't lose any significant amount of momentum by waiting to find your balance to tuck. i've hit some of my best spins by waiting for the balance to set in before i tuck. take a look at this one:
Not only does this improve your # of spins, it also creates a really cool effect imo that you could use to yoru advantage in a battle (perhaps to hit a beat of sorts?) |
