Headspin control = more rounds - 10-19-2009, 04:32 AM

Just curious,
I've been headspinin for about 4months now, but i still feel like my headspins have no control, some times i get lucky and really feel it, but most of the time they just fail, i was wondering how to get super control on headspins, like less leg flail, leg control, better balance? i can get to 10 free spins on a good day :S minus the drill

i want headspin control like bgirl shorty, or aichi, how can i get more control/ more rounds? cleaner?

i know its alot to read haha but i feel so close!!

one last thing,
is learning to balance on your head (no hands) a good practice method?

I can't headspin that well really, but from what my friends that do headpin tell me, is are you flexing your hips and or legs? Because I hear it helps, but I'm sure you've already heard that before :P.

I'm gonna post this in here because no one seems to have any answers in the 'Word up' Section.

Anyone here know where to buy a decent helmet for headspins?

I've been using a beanie and that just doesn't cut it as far as comfort and I'm not about to start losing my hair lol. I've used my friend's spin cap a couple times, but my hair is long and I can tell it's still causing a lot of friction on my scalp. I have a snowboard helmet that I've used for about two weeks, and on really thin carpet it works just fine. But as soon as I try to spin on wood floor or concrete it starts to wabal all over the place (because snowboard helmets are more wrong). Anyone have any tips?¿

I suggest you don't bother trying to find one :S I can find you a few headspin helmet but they cost ALOT and mostly out of stock.

Try making your own headspin hat, i made my own and it works perfect on Wooden floors and concrete. Doesn't work on carpet though xD.

My friend and i both have long hairs.. he did headspin longer than i did and he still hasn't lost any hair at all.. all he got was dandruff.. I got a few but not so much. So don't worry, get a hat, add in some sponge and knit.

Ah, I see.. Yeah I have fairly long hair too. Well, no offense and all, but I already know 2 people who have developed a bald spot due to headspins and another who's hair is starting to thin out on top :-/. I've heard some people saying that headspins don't make you go bald, but I've heard even more and seen even more people where they do start to develope a bald spot. So I'm not taking any chances.

Do you think you could still find me a few? just so I could give them a look over? Thanks for responding piyochan

okay so im going to give a little hint here. my headspins usually come off of my halos and ill hit like 3 to 4 spins you know but i do practice taps to glide still and dont really get too far all the time (i was better and got worse). but if youve been practicing for 4 months id reccomend trying new things. not outside of headspin but if you practice just headspin glides for 4 months and get no where you should try varitations on headspin. the reason most people have such balance is because they practice these holds and these different ways of headspinning. after doing these different headspin variations they acquire the strength, balance, and know how to do longer headspins.

this is just a sudden realization i had about headspins. i know itll work. just try it. im sure your headspins will improve.
