09-03-2006, 07:19 PM
Ok, here's all the moves I know.
Baby freeze, turtle freeze, handglide, moonwalk, armwave, heartbeat, backspin, knee spin, knee drop, the Marrianette(sp?Dont know the real name yet), the worm,Frog, C-walk, 6 step, buttspin, kneespin, satellite, and pretty soon I'll perfect my 1 and 2 legged swipes. Can someone help me out?I really wanna make a routine but I cant think of which moves to link and stuff.Help

man, dont even think about routines yet. work on toprock and get it really good, and get the basic groundwork moves (3 step , cc`s, helecopters, etc) and work on sum freezes, like chairs, forearm freeze, and combo-ing them from 6 step. and ull never use moonwalk, armwaves, glides etc, unless ur a popper, cuz those are not bboy moves.

jst go with what feels natural. if you try to spend more time pounding a specific routine into yur head, u'll end up screwin it up in the end, and you'll waste time that you could haev been using to instead learn new things and improve on what you already know. jst start with yur tops and then do what feels right from there. if you suddenly feel liek droppin down into footwork, then do it, ya kno? jst go with the flow

your moves conflict too much with each other to be put into a routine
just make all your moves revolve around ur toprock and six step...
doesnt sound like you have too much foundation so work on those...
routines dont usually pull out too well unless ur doing a group battle anywayz..
oh and i dont no too many people who cwalk in battles or cyphers but thats totally up to you

Ok.And yeah, I am a popper too.I have only been a bboy for like a month or 2 so I do need work.My toprock is getting really good. Thanx for the advice.I guess I'll just let things flow.
I'll just start off by saying the majority rappers today have no intention of supporting hip-hop culture. If you don't support the culture, then you aren't really hip-hop.

we have a group that breaks in the college near me, here are my moves after 2 months... bad toprock, no planned top to bottom transitions, six/three/twelve step, like 2 techs, coffee grinder, pussy swipes, a baby freeze, a chair freeze, and a shoulder freeze.
That's nothing, but when the dude in charge says "circle" i take my turns and come up with somethin fresh on the spot and people go "oooh" when i stick my stuff nice... even the people who are working on their 5th 2000 rotation and pike to elbow variations. So get off your ass and make routines, you're probably better than me.
