You don't have to know if you don't want to , but Finding out the history about dance and the origin of it, will make you a better dancer.. Only if you use it for that of course.. you can gain all the knowledge in the world, but if you don't apply it, well then it doesn't do any good.
On top of that if you don't know where poppin' came from and how it formed how do you know you are even poppin'?

Ok yea if you want to take it that far back .. cool. I admire you thirst for knowledge.. But the poineers didn't start it from some girl in the 1800's.. When they were kids they watched this guy, and the chitty chitty bang bang and stuff similar..
I find these ironically funny.

lol the point I was making on the second quote is where the pioneers started.. That's all.. I still think its good to go back even further. I was just clarifying the point I was making.. So homeboy was right when he said it didn't start with shields. because Shields had to get it from somewhere as well. nothing is new under the sun.

PS- Bopping was inspired by movements done by a girl.

Uh ok, but the clip in Chitty Chitty bang bang was a girl.. Which is something I mentioned as an inspiration. There is nothing sexist about my statement.

The point I was making originally, to clarify, is that the dance moves named the robot was inspired to the pioneers by Shields in the 60's. that's all I was saying..

you even wrote this..

"No... First of all we know that doing the robot began in the late 1960's. As did the boogalo, the jerk and the popcorn. "

Now where Shields was inspired by it came from somewhere and so on and so on. And it wasn't just Shields because he had a team mate and it's a chick. She's dope with it too. So don't get confused on where I'm comin' from.

Look bro I'm not trying to come at you. I actually admire your thirst for knowledge. I apologize if it came off the wrong way.
