In his lecture, "The Great Hip Hop Swindle," Jorge Pabon, Sr. Vice Pres. of the Rock Steady Crew, delves into the circumstances that have led to the fragmentation of Hip Hop culture as it stands today. He discusses the ways that Hip Hop was celebrated in the 70s through the 80s and compares this to media and industry dominated control of Hip Hop today. Not only does Fabel discuss the circumstances and situations that led Hip Hop to the state that it is in today, he also offers solutions for how people can revive the culture and attempt to restore it to it's original state. Fabel backs up his assertions with visuals and artifacts which he has collected or produced himself.
