flexi bboys have no musicality

and i have never met a bboy with musicality that is horrible at dancing......it never happens like that

if u can show me a clip of a flexi-bboy with musicality, hit me up

and i bet i could smoke a number of flexi-bboys........bring them out to NYC and we'll decide whos really got that FUNK

no airchairs or lotuses allowed
I bet i could smoke a number of flexi-bboys, i bet i could smoke a number of style or powerheads too but it doesnt mean that all of them are shit. Your being a bit of an idiot making broad sweeping generalisations and expecting the rest of us to agree with what you say.

Also that last bit about no airchairs or lotuses .... Be a man and face them with their full arsenal of moves. Thats like sprinting against a guy who can only use one leg.

Will dance for food.

"oh my dog ate my bboy skills"- MaDD ... heh heh

...whoa...masss tension up in here but i thought that as long as you can break, in any form or way via you be a power head, style or flexi your a bboy/girl and thats what counts right?.....and if it doens't does that mean that rubber leggs doens't count as a bboy since he does flexi moves?

rubber legs is still bboy

whether people like it or not

just like PA is still bboy. PA really brought it to Kujo in a battle...

yo this aint an arguement about whos a real bboy or not, im just sayin when it comes to BATTLING (cypher battles, the REAL shit) *most* flexi bboys cant cut it

there FLOW IS TOO CHOPPY, they have no musicality (note musicality is making more out of the song than just rocking the standard break, AKA hitting freezes, steps etc. to trumpet sections or other non-break parts of the song. that clip of sick showed no musicality just rather him hitting the snare at the end of the break loop and doing tricks. if you aint hittin the snare or hitting the "beat" you got alot of work to do as a good dancer)

and its not because i cant do any of this shit, i used to be into all this flexi shit a couple years ago, but after doing it and realizing how wack i was, i got real with my rockin

cats with flava and foundation are up in the circles, flexi bboys are sittin in the corner stretchin for their battle so they can pop up into a pike and drop on their head without pulling a muscle

and ive been to my fare of jams in the NY area and i can tell you i dont think i have ever seen a flexi-bboy in the cypher

i got a feelin yall aint been up enough to know what a real cypher is, you gotta fight your way into that shit and throw down hard or your gonna get laughed at

IF YOU AINT IN THE CYPHER, YOU AINT REPRESENTIN

you do hold some points chris that are true, i've never seen an abstract bboy all of a sudden represent in a cypher, but then again i bet alot have done so. just because many abstract bboys can't/don't or choose not to hit the beat doesn't mean they can't. i bet some abstract bboys out there can really hit the beat if they really WANT to

yea but why the hell would you NOT wnat to? thats ridiculous, the definition of a bboy is a dancer who specifies movements to the "break" part of a song. in other words, if you aint hittin beats, YOU AINT DANCING

and zuloon, get real son, ive been in this game longer than you, ive gotten up way more than you, ive battled more than you, and ive been to way more jams and events than you

and your sayin IM goin to the wrong jams? since when is out for fame NY, bboy massacre, breaks U, and rock steady anni. wrong jams (just a few of the bigger ones ive attended)? damn son you really gotta stop posting messages on bboy.org and get some experiance under your belt before you say ridiculous things like that hahahahahah

One, you obviously havn't seen much of rubberlegs and law, cause they've been dancing a whole lot better than they were a year or 2 ago.

and 2

PA wasn't near close "smoking" Kujo. It was an exhibition, and it was also rather close. No one smoked one another in that battle.

I'll come back later and reply to the actual topic, no time right now.

I love how you say that flexible bboys have no musicality. Just like how Americans are fat and lazy and how video games cause people to do school shootings.

Except that, not all Americans are fat and lazy, and not all video games cause people to do school shootings (in fact, studies have shown that there is no link...but that's a topic for another day).

You see where I'm going with this? It's not that flexibility bboys have no musicality, it's that you see a couple and you assume all bboys of that style are like that.

It's fine to say that a specific bboy has no rhythm, and present your evidence. But to say that all people of that bboy's style have no rhythm simply because one bboy can't hit the beat? That's uncalled for, and frankly, not fair to all of those bboys who don't fit the stereotype you set upon them.

You know what? I agree with you. Some flexible bboys can't play with the song if their life depended on it.

Then again, some regular bboys can't play with the song if their life depended on it either.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't NY the wrong demographic for abstract bboyin?

From what I know, abstract bboys mostly reside in the western United States. Maybe that's why you're not seeing any.
