ok
a lotta ppl dont know this, but they found out that the stadium that junior did it in had condensed air
meaning, the molecules in the air were more compact, so it was harder to move through
so it's kind of like moving through water - there's lag but it supports you
so basically, that's what helped him do all those impossible moves - think about it, those are easy as hell underwater, and that's basically what he's doing
the condensed air is like water, making it all easier for him
it also explains some slo-mo parts, but the others were just edited
but yeah, condensed air = planches.

lmao condensed air. me and a whole lot of ppl can do those push ups boi. ima put a video up soon. ohh ya and i'll do it out side with no condensed air lol. as for the slo-mo parts, theres no edits, thats air swinging. which means he uses his hands to support him self and he has enough strength to slowly move his legs about him self. but when hes floating in the air, the video is slowed down by like wut...5% to make it seem fluent. peace
don be shy an jus spank da monkey

Isnt the video just edited clips from the Red Bull BC1 2005? Im loving the condensed air theory though, its the most imaginitive BS i have heard in a long time. Condensed air.. i mean come on it would have to be under high pressure to condense it because as a mixture of gas its nature means it will take on the shape of the stadium. This would actually technically make it alot harder for him to do the moves. The stadium has like a 100ft ceiling ... hes what ... 2ft from the floor. So the 2ft of condensed air is gonna somehow counter the massive weight from 100ft of condensed air (which would weigh more in kg/cm that normal air) that is bearing down on him? On the other hand .. if you were just joking ... hah funny stuff.
Will dance for food.
"oh my dog ate my bboy skills"- MaDD ... heh heh

if the air was condensed to be like water, then it would turn to liquid...like water lol...
then the air would be a puddle on the ground
maybe
haha cool theory though

the thing about weight lifting is that you get EXTRA muscle training, in addition to the ones needed for bboying. it's like economics, man, it's all about efficiency. i wanna weigh the least possible and have not so much bulk, but still be able to hold myself up easily. don't get me wrong, but don't most people lift weights for mass so they can look better? in bboying, you gotta have speed in your muscles too. ideally, bboys should look like Bruce Lee, not Triple H.

This post, and that statement win this thread.
Bruce Lee was the epitome of physical perfection.

yeah that's why i stopped doing weights actually
but i still think that weights helps, it just isn't the perfect solution. The fact is, doing bench press makes you good at bench press and doing planches makes you good at planches. Why bother figuring out which weight lifting exercises benefit planches when you can just do planches? Maybe you can do like 1 sec but keep at it and you get better. That's why i like the dragondoor article it helps to stay motivated by easing you into it. If you're super motivated then yeah just jump straight into planches, and that seems to be what VP is recommending
and yeah don't develop muscle mass you won't be able to use, it just gets annoying.
I think someone said something about speed in muscles, that can also be trained with weights if you lift them explosively, but bodyweight stuff is still better IMO.
sorry about sounding argumentative, i just get a little annoyed when ppl say things like "oh no weights do NOTHING to help..." etc. which is plain incorrect.

The song is Eric B and Rakim- I Know You Got Soul.
And... Do u all think Junior's leg problem thing affects his planche pushups and thats the reason he can do em on his fingers? Or is he just built with extreme upper body strength?

wow...
Bench press works triceps and pecs. You need triceps and pecs to do pushups, even no-handed although its more focused on shoulders. And who the hell said I was for lifting huge amounts of weight? I'm for lifting weights and building muscle.
IT DOESN'T MATTER WHETHER YOUR ARE FACING UP, DOWN, LEFT, RIGHT, INSIDE OUT... OR FUCKING WHATEVER. MUSCLES ARE MUSCLES NO MATTER WHAT WAY YOU'RE FACING. THEY HELP WITH STRENGTH, BUT NOT FOR BALANCE, I'LL ADMIT THAT. BUT YOU USE ESSENTIALLY THE SAME MUSCLES FOR BENCH PRESS AND PUSHUPS.

your logic is flawed, purdue boy.
it's the same muscles, but the muscles have different functions. with different functions, they'll contract differently. with bench press, it'll make your pecs and triceps real good at pushing shit and lifting heavy weights. it won't quite help so much with holding yourself up.
here's an example. keeping your arms straight, hold your bench press bar with enough weight to match your bodyweight. it's really not that hard.
then hold yourself in a planche. whaaaa it's harder!
