First of all, bboying isn't meant to compete IN THE FIRST PLACE, second, because of that last part you said. Leave this site. Now. Leave this site, and just stop bboying.

Read my guide in the handstand sections, its a planche guide, and learn that then do a push up and that is pretty much what your are looking for. If I am right. I am not sure if it is something different.

Haha, lol my statement makes drama! I like it.

But ye, I don't bench either, and I don't know how much, or care how much I can bench. Another reason why I dont do school sports, no, im not a loser assf*cks, but they make you lift weights for any regular sport, and I refuse. lol

the muscles you use when weight lifting dont help with any bboy moves

so you gain 30 pounds of muscles, that you have to add to the weight that you have to lift yourself with untrained muscles

does that sound smart to you?

Its like the bicep buidling obsession kids get. Totally useless muscle in bboying... just dead weight past a point.

Yep I don't see any way weight lifting would help. Just practice easier planche versions to get it first and do alot of pushups. I think someone has already posted this article
Building an Olympic Body through Bodyweight Conditioning: A Bodyweight Strength Training article from Dragon Door Publications
just follow that and you'll be able to do them once if you won't give up.

dude...are you telling me that pecs and triceps and shoulders (muscles used in bench press i believe) aren't used in bboying? haha

for sure the best thing though would be doing the move itself though, becuase then you get specificity of movement...but weights would benefit by increasing size of muscle fibres, even if the movement isnt quite the same.

except bench press isnt really what you would want to be doing for planche pushups i dont think, if you had to use weights. I don't know, i can't do planche pushups haha but wouldnt you want more of a shoulder focussed movement?

EDIT: and that dragon door article is really good, the method of progressive overload is quite effective

i think the dragondoor article focuses TOO MUCH on progression. i just jumped into that shit and it worked fine. just don't be a pussy about it and lean the fuck forward.

the thing about weight lifting is that you get EXTRA muscle training, in addition to the ones needed for bboying. it's like economics, man, it's all about efficiency. i wanna weigh the least possible and have not so much bulk, but still be able to hold myself up easily. don't get me wrong, but don't most people lift weights for mass so they can look better? in bboying, you gotta have speed in your muscles too. ideally, bboys should look like Bruce Lee, not Triple H.
