I have decided to try and get this ROTY thing rolling, again.
anyways, this thread is only for deciding on the specifics
here's my proposal

Competition format :

20 Bboys : 16 contestants and 4 back-ups if anybody decideds to drop out
all bboys are to be chosen from a less than one minuete set eliminations similar to the origional ROTY. However, all sets should be recent as to 2 month prior before the eliminations are held

19 Battles : There will be 4 battles between the back-ups similar to that of the BOTY format. This is to create a order of the back ups organized by skill, where they will sub in for anybody who drops out in that order, best going first. There will be battles between the qualified 16 bboys in a 1:1 format, 1 round, less than 2 minuetes, with a designated song chosen by the judges.

Requirements for the Bboys:

Less Than 1 and a Half Years experience : Seeing that it's "Rookie" of the year we don't want too experienced bboys coming and sweeping the competition when they should be competing in KOBO, but we don't want too unexperienced bboys so that it isn't boring as fuck

Over 30 posts : Following the rules of the OB forum ^^

Proposed judges:
yell-O : As one of the most active bboys on the OB forum and proven to be able to dance to a certain extent of skill surpassing many, i chose yell-O
MaDD : Do I need to give a reason? As a mod for the beginner/move forums he's one of the most qualified bboys on the site to give critique and judge on such a compeitions
bboyRTHYM : At 2 years, i believe that rthym has the ability to critique accurately and judge fairly due to the fact that he'll be watching bboys with a similar amount of experience, but he's skilled enough to be outside of the "rookie" level
Bumblebee : possibly one of the most experience bboys on this forum, he's shown over and over that he is skilled in toprocks,footwork, powermoves,musicality, and so many more aspects of a good bboy.
Proof : Skilled, fair, and uses common sense, great judge.

P.s: You may call out judges based on their reason for voting your opponent, BUT the reason must be approved by me. All judge call-outs will be done within the thread of the battle.

vote yes or no as to whether we should do this and please add or ammend anything above in the proposal you want to change

Yes. Make sure you control this shit though, see if you can get the mods to kinda regulate this like the actual BOTY.

Also, how are you going to know if someone is under a year and a half? I mean, some people know how long others have been going, but we might have some random people just come in and we have no idea how long they've been going.

I guess it's really up to that person, but with no prizes except bragging rights would they really want to fake how long they've been bboying just so they could say they won ROTY? but i'm going to see how the poll goes and what opinions are expressed before giving the go and making the elimination thread or not XD

i think, one way to ensure experience bboys/bgirls don't set up fake accounts which states "started in oct 2009", would be set it right now immediate with effect from this thread's first post's month-1 (oct - 1 = sept).

no bboy/bgirl is supposed to be "younger" than sept 2009. anyone who sees this thread now (october) and tries to set up an account to battle, and are pretty good, would be quite obvious what's going on.

it may limited the really fresh rookies, but then again, it wont be fair to the 1week-old rookie to vs a 1yr old bboy... have a minimum limit of sept 2009 and prior, will ensure most of the contestants are legit..

and i'm ok with helping out to judge.
