People think I'm C-Walkin'... -
09-16-2003, 11:24 PM
Ok, before everyone gets off flaming me, I'M NOT ASKING HOW TO C-WALK! But, whenever I start doing some toprock, people always think I'm C-Walking. WTF?! I don't even know how to C-Walk. Funny thing is, I can do 3 completely different routines and people still say I'm Crippin'. Is it just me or is everyone just wack? Plus, whenever I tell people that I'm a bboy, they always ask me if I can C-Walk. Just a question, but why is it that everyone here says that C-Walkin' aint bboyin', but everyone I know thinks it is?

Yeah, I've heard tons of people call my uprock and toprock C-walk. Hearing this seriously annoys the hell out of me. They only think it's C-walk since they don't know b-boying, and they're also unfamiliar with that movement.
Although I'm not sure, people here say C-walk isn't part of breaking because it's related to gangs and violence. I'm not really sure what the MAIN reason is, but other people on this site have tons of knowledge on this kind of topic.

I know a few people wit that problem, lol but the majority of us who have it usually enter cwalkin circles to roast people bboy style lol n they dont know the difference. The fact they DONT know the difference means they shouldnt be talking...to be cripping u HAVE to be spelling something, if ur not spelling u aint crippen
as for people thinking they are related, the see the youth of america doing both usually...its in the clubs, its a lot of places usually together, a lot of people learn them both n thats what they see.
its not bboyin in any sense like that but it does have some aspects u can use
Dont bite the hand that feeds u, eventually everyone helping u will get annoyed...jesus.
Beginners giving beginners tips without understanding what they are saying is probally one of the worst ways to spread KNOWLEDGE.....which is the key to anything in life.

"YOOOOOOOOOOOO! Can you CRIP?!?!?"
"Lookit my skin. Whether I can or not, I'll get my ass-kicked."
<----My response to a similar situation.
Toprocking doesn't resemble any kind of c-walk at all...unless u crip instead. Cripping's like a sort of 'hop' walk.....but most people don't KNOW that....so in answering, your toprocking's most definately fine....and the people are just morons.....but yeah, without a video, it's tough to tell.

C-Walkin "was" a way to show affiliation with a gang. If cats arent in the gang, why they c-walkin neway. It aint a dance.
I will now attemp to drown myself, you can try this at home, you can be just like me.-Slim

It became a dance because stupid little scrubs wanted to be like the hardcore gangster guy's they saw everywhere and now its what it is today....annoying, I dont care if your good at it or suck at it, its just annoying.

Yeah, most guys that can crip WELL are toughass fighters....altho that ALSO is a stereotype.
Cripping was a way to show affiliation with the 'crips'.....which around here anyway, is mostly black guys. These guys still get pissed off when they see a white guy crippin' (As I said, 'lookit my skin colour...etc' lol). Hell, I don't even crip much, but a black friend of mine did it at a dance with me....we had this like, synchro dance routine mixing cripping, toprocking, and some glides...and after seein' me do it, these 2 black guys were all like "Yo, bust this cracka's ass!".....I was on a bike, so I had to do very little to subdue 'em long enough to get away on it without a scratch, so I lucked out, but that's my point.....crips can still come at you with a vengeance, so watch yourselves, if you're not in there and doin' it. Friendly advice man....I'd rather not tell you about the baseball bat story, cuz half of you guys wouldn't believe me anyways.
Peace.
P.S. Yeah man, I'm polish.......not afraid of postin' it or anythin'. Mowicz is actually cut off of the end of my last name.
EDIT: lol....I figured I'd post what my friend said about the incident with the 2 black guys.....I did an arm-lock to a hip-toss to one of the guys right? (Simple wrestling-style punch counter) And my friend was all like "Was the guy like 'Yo, Whuss diss Jackie Chan Shit?!'" Howls.

lol. People are always callin' me a crazy Jackie Chan mutha #@!@a, cause of all my crazy bboy moves. Plus I can kick over anyone's head and almost kick myself in the face. Anyway, I'm pretty sure there ain't crips around here so I've never seen anyone get @#%#ed up for C-Walkin'.
