FLARE GUIDE BY BBOY STRECH_AJ..

Okay I got a couple of emails asking for flare help so ima right this guide and give it to the needy…

Okay a few things to remember:
*There are different ways of doing flares, the way that you use your hips to swing, and the way that you use your legs to get the momentum, and I much prefer the way that you use your legs momentum, and yes I can do them both ways and I prefer the legs way,… so with this guide don’t worry about your hips okay…
· oh yes and as Anubus originally wrote in his guide a while ago, your legs go out and around when doing flares( I prefer to think of it as up and around, but I did snag this phrase from Anubus so im just giving him the credit that he deserves)
· oh yes and don’t think that by reading this guide you will magically get flares within the week, because you wont, it takes hours and hours, weeks, and months, even years for some… however this guide I sment as a guide line and will solve problems that you may come across and by reading and fully understanding this guide you WILL learn the move quicker than you would without a guide…
· there is no secret to flare only practice and more practice.. there are tips however and that’s what ima give you.
(THIS IS A COUNTER CLOCKWISE GUIDE, IF YOU GO CLOCKWISE JUST SWITCH THE WORD “RIGHT” WITH “LEFT” AND VISE VERSA)
THIS IS HOW I DO THEM STEP BY STEP.

STEP1: Okay, I widen my legs (about shoulder width) and take a step back with my left leg.( my legs are about twice the length of my shoulder width apart now, but my right leg is a bit to the front)

STEP2: I swing my left hand to my left foot and about a2 seconds before my left hand is where my left foot was, my left foot starts to swing around the back of me.( so your left leg should elevate about 2 seconds before your hand hits the ground” where your foot was”)

STEP3: now my left leg is swinging around the back of me, and im leaning on my left hand.

STEP4: just before my left leg hits my right leg, I kick my right leg up( as the left leg comes under the right leg, the right leg should start to go around a bit to the right(because you must try and draw a circle in the air with your right foot at this point ,before it starts to swing low and gets ready to go under the left leg)
NOW THAT WAS VERY IMPORTANT TO REMEMBER MY RIGHT LEG WENT “ UP AND AROUND, THEN UNDER” OKAY GOT IT
When your right leg is coming around and about to swing under you place your right arm down. SO AS THE RIGHT LEG COMES DOWN PUT YOUR RIGHT HAND DOWN.

STEP5: okay so now you are on both hands with both legs in the air and your ass is high in the air..
Now it is time for your left leg to go “ up and around” so as the left leg goes up release your left hand “ kick that left leg high, and I mean really high, but don’t get uncomfortable, and lean hard on your right hand as you swing your right leg under that” high” left leg.

STEP6: okay now you are only on your right hand and your left leg is high, with your right leg swinging under it.
Now as your right leg starts to go behind your “high left leg” swing your left leg around, but around a little bit to the front( so your foot kind of turns from your toes facing the roof to your toes almost facing the ground) don’t worry too much about that toe part that comes after you have the basics, so don’t stress if your confused, one day you will know what im saying, but it isn’t that important right now.
And now place your left hand down.

STEP7: okay so now you should be in a planche type of a position, that is like a runners starting position with his legs elevated.

AND THAT’S IT YOU HAVE DONE ONE AWESOME FLARE

· REMEMBER UP AND AROUND( VERY IMPORTANT DO IT WITH BOTH LEGS)
· THE IMPORTANCE OF THE LEFT GETTING HEIGHT IS SO THAT YOU HAVE HEIGHT AT THE BACK OF YOUR FLARES AND YOU WONT CRASH…
· THE MOST DIFFICULT PART IS KEEPING THE LEFT HIGH AND FIGURING OUT THE OUT AND AROUND WITH THE LEFT LEG, IT WILL TAKE YOU VERY LONG TO UNDERSTAND THE OUT AND AROUND CONCEPT BUT HERE IS A NICE VIDEO CLIP TO HELP YOU, WATCH HOW HIS LEGS GO “ UP AND AROUND”
