hey AzNbReAkA, much respect and gratitude for putting this up. but there are some things which i disagree on.
My understanding of a B-Boy is someone who embodies all of the elements of Hip-Hop, not just living breakdancing in everyday life. I know you kinda touched on this with the respect aspect in your definition, but I think that it is necessary to embody at least one of the other disciplines to call oneself a BBoy.
The B in BBoy has been defined as different things from different sources. and the definition of 'break' has also been defined as different things from different sources.
There is one element of hip-hop/bboy lifestyle (breaking, emcee, etc.) which is not represented enough:beatboxing. I think it should be included as one of the disciplines.
but again, i dont mean to disrespect. much thanks and much respect AzNbReAkA.
There was a big vid goin round with some bboyz from 20 or 30 years back sayin how bboy meant bronx boy and they emphasized it a lot. Although times have changed and ppl do call it different things, I for one call a true bboy a bronx boy.
"Top Rocking, Floor Droppin, spinnin and glidin, windmills combinin, 90 90 90 90....." thas how Bboys roll!
"For every bboy, there's a poser, for every poser, there's a tombstone."
