Im new and needing some help - 03-26-2003, 04:55 AM

I am really into all this stuff. I really like gymnastics and martial arts and those kind of things and have been trying to do some break dancing things. I have just been learning off the net since I'm not allowed to learn at a real place since my mum is crazy and I already do lots of other sports. For the past 12 months on occasion i have been practising various things, like easy moves and trying windmills and that. I stoped sometimes since i didnt think i was strong enough and i have been working on that. Now I'm really back in to it, me and some friends are all trying to learn off the net and stuff I was wondering if there are somethings that are pretty esential to do. I was really wanting help with windmills and the turtle. I have been trying to do windmills clock-wise in many different styles, and have got alot of bruises but i don't care since i can handle them Also with the turtle I was wondering if there is a way i can strengthen my left arm more to hold my weight and my wrist. I normally seem to be stronger in my right arm and hold it in my gut when i do something one handed. I am a left handed writer, does that make any difference? I wanted that arm stronger so maybe it could help with windmills and turtle walking. One last thing, my right hand has been kind of hurting after my turtle pratice, which i do for around 30mins to 1h at a time, i have had pins and needles in my fingers and stuff and i wondered if that was really bad or something. Just if age helps, im 15. Thanks for the help

for the turtles just keep at it. from what i can tell EVERYONES wrists start to hurt when they first start to learn these. You know you are putting ALL of your weight on a body part that never has really supported you before. Don't worry about it. If you want to streghtn them just do alot of handstands and pushups that always helps. As for the left hand/arm thing.....
just jerk...i mean get a dumb bell and start doing curls and stuff with it. work your left more than your right. Sorry but I cant really help you with mills for I just started learning do do them myself but somebody'll help you out.

ok to strengthen your left wrist all you gotta do is start doing handglide freezes with your left hand stabbed instead of your right. as for the actual turtle learn to rock you body left and right when your doing it- try and actually ROCK you will get it

about your hand i dunno i have sore wrists but ive never had sore hands. maybe you could ease up a little if its that bad.

good luck anyways, hope you get it down

This one time...this hot chick rings me up and says to me in a horny voice, ''Oh baby come over now, no ones home''.... So I went over to her house and no one was home..

when u do windmill u don't need shit load of strenth...so is turtle, turtle is basically u get a good momentum to start off then juss switch weight frm left elbow to right elbow, its all in the abs, and wrist. if u want to strenghthen ur wrist..do alot of freezes..

for a turtle u dont need momentum or strength, its about coordination and balance..it because about momentum when u do them really quickly.

Dont bite the hand that feeds u, eventually everyone helping u will get annoyed...jesus.

Beginners giving beginners tips without understanding what they are saying is probally one of the worst ways to spread KNOWLEDGE.....which is the key to anything in life.

for the wrist prob, it isn't cus the presssure hurts, it's probly the position.
When i do the turtle, i always do it the same way, so make a spot and practice. As for the windmill, repition is the key and there is barely and power to it.
