I need a Planche guide - 01-14-2003, 12:17 AM

How do you balance that? How do you get the strength and stuff needed? I want that move and will do anything to get it...

Planches are real bitches. Its gonna take awhile.. get ready. Your gonna have to prepare. Theb gave you a good way to start, but gradually use the chair less. I can only hit a planche if I go into a turtle, kick up and push until the momentum keeps me up for about 3 seconds

i can't hit a planche yet but that's 'cause i took a break to learn eclipses first. however, i tried theb's tip of using the chair, and you'll be amazed beyond words of how much it helps. a tip that helped me that anubis gave me was that you should have your elbows locked if they face sideways and if they face your feet, they should naturally lock.

yeah but try going into a turtle, and pushing up and kicking upwards... its basically forcing yourself to go to a plache, but the momentum while your going up helps you stall up a few seconds.. its the planche.. but I can't hit a regular planche not coming up from that position.

yeah 'cause when you do it the way you described, you basically throw yourself in the air and the result is that it's harder to hold 'cause when the force sending you up dissipates, you get "pushed" downward again by the "backlash" of the dissipating force. it's better to do it with the chair
