Boogaloo Question - 08-09-2006, 11:50 PM

I've been a member of this forum for a little while, And I have learned alot from you guys. But one thing I cant seem to get or break down is the boogaloo. It sux cause its one of my favorite things about this art. and there are no tutorials that I can find. Perhaps someone could link one or if you feel real ambitious, make one? It would help me out alot.

I've been doing things like slo mo on my cpu but there is still something to be said about verbal instruction. Im confident that I can learn anything over the web if I just try hard enough.

Hell, this forum gave me my flares =)

Videos, mirror and practice is a good tutorial

but... if you mean in a step by step manor you'd might want to check out The Cure. You should be able to find it on SoulSeek

Poppin Pete's The NExt Level DVD teaches Boogaloo Rolls, Walkouts , Hitting on beat, and Flavor! ALso Boogaloo Sam. NOt an instructional tape per se, but it pays to look at the man who started it all. Sam has a smooth style that makes it easy to see what he's doing, and the DVD has brief description by Sam and Skeeter Rabbit on how to do the "old man", and a segment with Poppin Pete on how to do the walkout, plus tons of footage of Sam doing the dance in various forms back in the 70's with lots of routines.

Yuki...boog like all styles is not anywhere near as simple as it looks. Hit me up via instant message or on my myspace...boogie iq....and I will give you what I know. I have had formal training in the style, although I do not feel qualified to teach it. But like I said, I will give you what I know.
