Falling down - 01-17-2006, 07:56 PM

OK I've seen a lot of poppers falling down lightly(on purpose) and coming back up, this move is really really cool. Can anyone explain just how to do it?

P.S.- At the end of this video is an example of him falling in front of girls

Hey, i noe exactly wut ur talking bout. i cant rlly explain it that well , but the leg das bent helps u get back up by pushing on the ground. n use the momentum from fallnig foward, maybe ill make u a vid sumtime. i procrasinate tho...

OK 1) when you fall, do a half boog roll down, going legs, then waist, then hands, and using your FINGERTIPS to catch you from hitting your head

2) when you get up, stay on your toes ALL THE WAY

the rest is really down to watching and finding your own route i guess.

BTW i cant really do this very well - but they are the illusion principles.

hmmm...the best way, is to fall over in front of a camera. Dont worry about getting up -

capture it, then play it back in reverse, look at your feet, your arms, and the way your body twists - taking note of the speed - i think the speed is the key to the illusion here as well.. Copy the reverse clip as you get up. I cant help you anymore though

man you have a video which shows you how to do it, watch it over and over concentrating on one part of his body each time, then get that right, then move on to the next part, get that right - eventually - your whole body will be doing what he does.

ok i cant believe no one has said this, as its KEY! to the whole thing.

This is how i do it, when you go down have 1 leg rise up behind you, i mean jack it right up, even if u bend it a little get it behind u, then launch it down towards the ground at the same time as pushing up with your arms, then you will rock back and up using the momentum from your leg, and the upwards force from your arms.

Its not the reverse of falling down at all, so taping yourself falling wont help ur rise.

Hyun does his to the side which uses more complete body momentum, as im new to this move i just broke it down to an easier to learn version and will move onto sideways etc with time.

SO ur saying fall down FORWARD with one leg behind me and then once I do like a push-up push off with the leg that was up???

ive had a go at this one though i didnt stretch so i pulled a muscle in my leg... but anyway, how i did it (from watching other people):

fall forwards, catch urself, lift a leg up, then as ur pushing up with ur arms kick the leg back and push urself up wid the other leg..hehe, theres a lot of use of ur leg muscles in my version, though i only tried this for a day and never did it again...

some one should post up a vid and make it like slow motion or something... or else i will... pfffttt!!!

i saw nam hyun joon do it a few times and this is how i THINK he does it

fall down and use ur hands to stop ur face from hitting the floor, and (if ur a righty) throw ur left leg into the air behind you and bring it down so that ur left thigh is pushing against the back of your right foot. and kinda use that as a lever-like thingy and lightly push off with ur hands. eh iono if i explained that right but thats how i think your supposed to do it hope it helps
