The "Slick Sideslide" is really a misnomer on the move. First off, if you take a good look at his footwork, he really isn't gliding per se. The move is more of a one footed float. What it looks to me like one should to to practice this move is first get really really limber in your knees and ankles. I am not very limber so I can't post a vid about this move. You seem to be rather confident in your abilities, perhaps too confident, so I won't get into weight displacement and the mechanics of a float, assuming you already know those things. Barring that, I don't see what question you could have about that particular move. It seems rather straightforward to me, just pay close attention to the footwork as that is the key. The visual effect he creates with his upperbody waves and rolls is all just personal flair and flavor,a dn can be swapped out for whatever illusion you are going for.

Just try some stuff out bro. To be honest I have never seen another dancer do a float like that, so i doubt you will be able to find any other videos with it included.

As to the other elements of your question, I thnk they have been sufficiently addresed.

Everyone was a beginner at some point.

i just saw the thread thanks to a friend of mine.. anyways whats with all the talk?

the walk i did was not a GLIDE.. it was simply a walk i did to get forward to stage.. it was nothing special.. it was just an attempt to be special and it was a one second thought thing... i called it the "penguin walk" its not really a move and i really dont do this walk anymore.. but u could (or couldnt) say it was MY MOVE or NOT..

anyways i took the pic off too.. people claimed the person on the clip (aka me at SHS Talent Show 2005) were them... so ya now thats gone..payce

Chippa: I love you too - you're my lobster. The only thing that makes me feel well hung is my gliding ability.....so....keep stroking my ego.

Avatrin: If you know airposing - try gliding and airposing at the same time - then you're knees will learn to bounce-float.....then you can do what you like - also another little variation you can try is the old skool mime "walking down the steps" trick while you're gliding - and the escalator one. Make sure the steps are pretty small though or you'll bang your knees on the ground eh?
