im really new to poppin and i read those guides for poppin 101 or w/e they're called.
what is the difference between a dimestop and a hit. they both seem the same to me. when you do a dimestop dont you do sort of a brief pause? and isn't hitting kind of the same thing? so yeah im kind of confused and dunno the difference between hitting and dimestopping.
it would be nice if someone could make a video and show me "this is hitting" and "this is dimestopping'

Dimestopping is basically stoping quickly and starting back up again. Sudden stops on every beat.

Hitting is a common thing that all poppers do. It basically show that your moving to the beat. Hence "hitting," to every major beat in the music. Represented by flexing the mucles quickly.

no you dont really pause when you hit. maybe for a very small amount of time. and for dimestopping you actually do stop. hitting looks more like a pop. and dimestopping is more of like a stop. i think there is a big difference. and you should learn both, and learn how to seperate your dimestops from your hits because they shouldnt look the same.

Shrimp's gliding sequence during the opening credits of Breakin' is regarded as a "True Moonwalk"; whether or not this term is accurate, I don't know. But looking at that glide and looking at a backslide, the differences are glaring.

that term is right yates...
the moonwalk was actually a walk that was done in a circle "like you would walk on the moon", and then cats started adding the forwards slide with it for style effect.
