And if it was a dislocation, there would be a sick ass pop every time he did it. No, I think it's probably true that he was born double-jointed in his shoulders and can just do that crazy arm thing naturally.

I think you are completely wrong. I know more about shoulders than anyone else here. Mine are hypermobile - I can do what Salah does but I dont BECAUSE the reason I can do it is due to extremely bad damage due to dislocation. If you can do that due to damage it is not only the dumbest idea you could possibly have - you are just going to make the problem worse.
There is no joint in the shoulder - therefore no double-jointed-ness can be applied. It is a limbo of tendons and muscles - which can be stretched to build Strench. No comparison with fingers whatsoever. Do you see him dislocating his fingers? Nope.
Salah can do that because he learnt to do it gently, slowly, correctly, without damaging the muscles/tendons etc. He learnt how to dislocate his shoulders to do that. Its not a matter of opinion - gymnasts have been doing it for hundreds of years.

choose literature > X-Rays of a contrortionist to see how the human body's skeleton will flex to accomodate. That is the spine - and it separates when it is being bent that far - due to careful practise.
The human body is all muscles, and super-flexible if you work it gently. Its an amazing beast - you dont need to be born with flexibility to do these things.
