Chest hits, different way -
03-20-2005, 09:51 AM
OK, i know there is already a "chest hits" topic here but, i was talking to some OG poppers and they said that in order to pop with your chest you have to have muscles in you chest (pecs) and then you have to find a way to flex it? They said that they just pushed their chest out and flex it until they got used to flexing it and they could do it without pushing it out..
I just wanna clear up which one is right?

it just adds a lil better effect to the hit. kinda gotta time it good though...the flex at the end of the hit.

it definitely helps if you work your pecs out.
simplest way? do pushups.
how do you flex your chest? stretch your left arm out, then stretch it as far to the right as you can.
your left pec will be flexed.
same goes for your right.
by hitting your shoulders, your pecs will hit naturally.
also, if you push your chest out hard and pull your shoulders back a little, your pecs will hit naturally too.
trust me on this, i'm a living example.

I do all that traditional stuff, like flexing the pecs, and hittin the shoulders. Sometimes, though, I suck in my gut quickly, helping my chest look bigger, helping the chest pop look better. I dunno if anybody else does this...

hahaha!
twinkle_popper, i feel you man, i do suck in my stomach when i hit. the exact instant my chest goes out, my stomach goes in.
and guys, listen to ChippaStyles too.
snap it out. because when you do it slow, you will hurt your back, firstly because you're straining the muscles to push your chest / diaphragm out, and at the same time, it's more like a "stretching exercise" if you do it slow.
snap it out and you wont feel a thing.
and Noobie2005, nope...
your shoulders arent supposed to go up.
