S'up and welcome Newbz to the art of locking LOL! Ok im not gonna get into the history of it all coz no doubt other members have already explained all that stuff, all you need to know is that it was created accidentally by Don Campbell (Campbellock). He was actaully trying to do a move known back then as the funky chicken, but everytime he attempted this move he would freeze, and as people said, "...he would "lock" up..." Thus Locking. BLAH BLAH BLAH!

Ok locking is hard to explain so i'll be uploading some simple locking clips for you lot and i'll some post a, Beginners Guide To Locking, by AL-ROCK.

Newayz its all about, well as i say...wrist rolls, pointing angles, and steps, you'll understand soon enough, and to all those who do lock and dont know wot i mean im sorry, but you'll see wen i do the guide. Oh and most importantly its all about good dancing and having fun, it is important that one does not look bored or angry when locking, for some reason me and guys in my crew believe that it just doesnt suite the style, wen u lock, go as abstract as u want and always smile, laugh, make funny faces woteva, even sing along to the tunes, if they have words! Woteva, this will all create your locking character.
By this i mean, well for eg Im a popper and locker. Taugh by my dad i suppose from an kinda early age. And im totally a different person wen im doing the two different styles. Wen im popping, im smiling but serious in my moves, wen i lock, i go all out and laugh etc! My locking character is a joker! LOL! make up your own charcater to go with your locking. Believe me there is nuthin worse than "Angry Locker", wen they look like that, time to battle them, and make embarrass kid.

Yeah man 4real, u shold know a lil sumthin from ya old man tho rite? Is he good? He and my dad must know more than i do, hey were doin it at the times when Locking was there properly! Newayz man, lemme know wot your lockin is like...what dont u understand about it?
Watch out for the simle locking clips and tutorials comin soon.

Yeah yo Mogwai! another locker, yeah well man its good, coz i was thinkin to myself is it even worth it? There are pretty much no lockers on here LOL! apart from me, my boys and Poppin rice etc. But your proof that there are a few, a lil minority of us, but hell thats all we need! Lockin is the bomb, alot of people just cant do it or find it a lil more challenging than sum other styles, so they give up....well we dont do we guys! HAHA! newayz i just found an old clip of me locking, its alil old but still ok. Have a look when i post it (when i freakin find out how LOL!), but dont worry people im gonna post sum new clips of me and other mad lockers,and that tutorial is still under construction. Newayz im out.

yeah alright - i'll film a locking set once ive done my faking it final round....

If we lock enough then maybe it'll begin to spread like a very slow and funky plague, leaving a trail of dead ballroom dancers in its wake.

.....We need to sort out the funkstyles side of this forum. Too much gliding, not enough funk!!!!!

Mogwai your sooo rite man! We need to spread this style a lil more than it is already! LOL! come on guys lets do this.....only one problem sum1 tell me how to post a vid clip plz LOL coz maybe it doesnt work or maybe it just takes a hell of a long time to upload one.

Finally i was waitin to see how long it took you to post up on here Mr Rice! HAHA! was'up man! Yeah post a clip 4real, im interested to see your skills! Yeah i know wot u mean tho i have a fairly small vocab too, altho i wen i really get into the music i do look pretty good, im postin mine soon. So rice hurry wit that! And to Popnlocker man upload a clip of your dad up on here! 4real! the old skoolers are still the bomb tho huh! LOL my girls uncle is a big man and he was a breaker LOL! can still pull of footwork and sum mills!

I was like damn, i pulled out sum flare to 1 mill rotation turtle! LOL! Man rocked a toprock, then 3 taps of a headspin i was like BLOODY HELL!!!!

again! LOL! so i just started locking, and he was like "Very good" he was well impressed, now im in his good books! HAHA! l8er guys. Peace.

I'm really interested in seeing a guide too. Even if you're not done, you could do it in parts and at least get some locking stuff up on this forum, because it sort of seems to be lacking in this field.
