Learnt hitting...now what? - 03-10-2005, 09:42 AM

I've been practicing hitting for a month or two now and I think I've got a pretty decent ability to hit most of my body parts. I also have been practicing waves and I can do arm waves and body waves. The problem is, I don't really know how to put these together to an actual dance. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks alot!

"practice"
by that I mean, don't get discouraged. Dance is a commitment and won't come easy at times. SO...experiment with angles, or ways of incorperating any two styles together. Here's something simple to start from. A hard chest hit sends two arm waves out

exactly, once u got the hits, experiment with the angles and mix it up infront of a mirror, and see what you get.

you can hit every time the beat does. you can wave and hit every once in a while the n hit more and start tickin'

and you can always hit harder and wave smoother.

You should work on your bodywaves and try in take your whole body to the ground and back up. glides are good to learn cuz you can use them while you wave, you should learn to glide in all directions

you basiclly should learn every thing you can but keep perfecting what you got.

this site will only help a lil' you should invest in videos and a big mirror

I would invest in a camera, so you don't have to look in the mirror all the time. And you can review how much you improved. I erase it after I watched it cause I don't want my relatives watching it lol...
