Yea, I never understood the concept of ticking, but here's my thought. What I think it is is that, when doing waves you hit on every step or joint.

im not too sure about this but i thought ticking was hitting on every beat of the song. like if ur doin an arm wave, instead of doin a smooth motion, u hit at each joint. kinda like what verb said. theyre also smaller hits, likea tick. (tick tick tick tick tick)

isn't ticking like yates said? Strobing with hitting? Like I thought you stop n go really fast like with 16th beats in the music and hit to that whilte strobing. Or something similar...am I wrong?

check the second clip from the bottom with Bionic out at around 00:27. there is some really nice ticking going on. hopefully that clears up the confusion.
