I thought that was the only way you can do glides....Dragging your foot just makes it look like your dragging your foot around instead of looking like your gliding.

that means linking the points sweet and making the transition smooth - you didn't really cover that prowler...otherwise nice guide

floating is isolation of the legs while they are gliding. Then they can bounce, fold and all sorts - you can even glide on your heels only using that technique. I gotta be honest man - im no expert but in your guide you arent really demonstrating that - perhaps you could add a clip of that? I'm not syaing you cant do it- but i think you should add it to the tutorial. It only gets them 75% percent of the way there.

I noticed in your circle glide tut, you keep freezing and locking when you get overyour next weightpoint. Your upper body should not reach these points, it should move in a smooth arc without being affected (much) by where your feet are. otherwise its a locking boxglide. this is more a "four corners" tut than a circle glide tut.

Also you could benefit from bouncing your legs just a little - not your upper body, just relax the kneez and float.....

think bendy springy legs and practise like a mofo, then smooth it out towards where you were before.

I spent time talking about generally smoothening glides and concepts in the first written guide i made and in the first video i made aswell

And your comment about the fact i do it slowly and break it up into steps is so that ppl learning dont have to try to figure out what you are doing in full spring

there is no set way to do glides...you dont HAVE to do it with your feet on the ground..or not on the ground...it all depends on the effect you like

doing glides in full swing is difficult in small space with less than 15 seconds per movie on my camera....

Im not making up for anything if you think i have done something wrong

to adress the smooth changes and transition of feet it all comes with experience. before you know the set outlines of your movements..IE step 1 you cannot make it smooth because you have no 'glide method'. When i glide i put 100% on my still foot and am now learning to glide on my heel with the moving foot to give more of a walking look at the same time as doing the basic principles

you need basics b4 you can expand and I was meerly trying to show them to the learners, mogwai

Your vid really helped me learn to backslide except in the first vid you moved your feet a lil too fast; on your next thread try to make your movements longer and slower... you should make it a sticky, thx g

It's a good guide for those learnin'.

You should add a side glide in there though. Side glides are awesome

Do you serve a purpose or purposely serve?

my forward slide looks exactly like the opposite of a backslide, haha, that's the best way i can think of describing it!
