PopLock&Rock, at which point of the glide do your shoes squeak?
if it's during the sliding part, that means that you're dragging your feet on the ground. gliding doesnt actually mean dragging your feet on the ground... it's actually just slightly above the ground, but it's low enough that i looks like you're sliding it on the floor.

if you get the sound when you're transitioning between heel and toe, then try to go up a little higher on whatever you're pivoting on. for example if you're twisting on the toe part of your feet, try to go up higher on your tip toes. if it's the heel, try going higher to the back of the heel.

PL&R, it's an illusion that you will get.

your foot looks like it's sliding on the ground. but it's like...
just a little, really really very little off the ground so it looks like it's still flat there.

it comes with practise.
when i first started gliding, i, too, used to drag my shoes on the ground. wore out 2-3 pairs of shoes because of that. it became a bad habit.

now i'm working on getting it better... i can glide on almost any surface, in almost any pair of shoes now.

same goes for everything... practise makes perfect.

sometimes actually dragging your foot is great, but only of slipperly floors. on a basketball court you wood shred shoes, so id sya its best to learn both ways so u can diversify

wierd - 12-29-2004, 07:45 PM

is it wierd that i could do that before a backglide/moonwalk. Cuz my moonwalk was garbage wen i learned that spot glide i found out how 2 moonwalk. idk but mayb it is easier 2 learn the spot glide 1st but with some actual knowledge of how to moonwalk but not necesarily knowig how to do it.

glides are only good when they "float".
