You can't fall into them? What's a full jazz split? Is it same as half-split?

He wants to know what stretches to do. Let me begin by saying I do not know any phisical sciences, nor did I consult a professional on how to safely stretch, witch I wish I had. But this is the long road I took to getting the jazz/box/half/james brown splits down. After rigorous biking all the day long I would pedal home and stretch my warm muscles thus:
Opposing hand to far toe for 20 seconds, on each side.http://gorp.away.com/gorp/publishers...s/hamstrin.gif 20 seconds of toe touchin' http://www.strength-and-power-for-vo...-toe-touch.jpg 20 seconds of attempting the whole splits. http://bp0.blogger.com/_WZxb9c6r0YM/...400/splits.jpg 20 seconds on each side actually attempting the box splits. This picture is not quite what I was going for, I usually had the back foot on it's side, much to my detriment. I would advise doing the stretch as shown in this photo, and after you can go low then moving your feet into the desired position. http://www.jugglingjon.net/articles/...stretch-18.jpg I did a few other stretches for my ankles, and what ever the muscles are in my thighs to round out my legs. These described are the stretches I think helped me with the james brown splits. I repeated this stretch routine twice, then guzzled some water before a shower. It took me a long time to learn, and I'm certain there is a faster, safer way. |
