although the resources are few, depending on where you are from that is

locking is pretty big

In france and Japan there are a large number of dancers who lock, although they may not be properly educated on the dance there are still a LARGE number of lockers

Here in North America there are a lot of OGs who are still active but you have to go out searching for them and attend their classes, the resources here are not as readily available but the big areas, in my opinion are: LA and southern cali/Vegas (for the large number of OGs that live there), NYC, Philly, Montreal & Toronto

instructional videos are rare and not the best way to learn the dance, but older footage, like soul train and performances by the lockers are becoming more and more available from when i started out 4 years ago

Popping seems to be bigger here in north america, unfortunately people see locking as a clown dance so it doesnt have the same rough street appeal popping can tend to have

thanks for sharing you knowledge scramblelock

i only started dancing (popping) about 3 months ago because my university (i'm from australia) was running some dance classes. i started joining the popping class and at first thought popping and locking were the same thing because i always see it used together (pop n lock). but now i know that they are two different styles.

i hope popping and locking become a lot more popular down here in australia

yo Funkstyler, hmmmm, have we met before? Just find some local lockers and jam with them, right now i can think of 8 lockers which are dedicated to the dance, but getting them in one place is a different story

Dont worry the scene WILL grow.

Scamblelock: woh nice, u know lama... his dope, one of the most active and repected popper/locker/bboy in aust

A few definition that i use to describe dance in general

Dance: Movements done to portray the music.
Dance styles: Specific movements done to portray the music.

If there is no local locking, make some. Locking is as big as you make it!
