Hats For Locking? - 08-09-2006, 09:03 AM

hi there all. i was wondering if any one could tell where i would be able to buy one of those gatsby hats that most locker wear. ive looked all over ebay and theres heaps on there it's just that they aren't the ones that im looking for. im looking for the really over sized ones. if any one has seen the locking on the UK BBOY CHAMP with P-lock and originality locker then you'll kno what im talking about.

so if any one could tell some where on the net i might be able to find them or if ive been looking for the worng thing and they are called something else any help would be appreciated.

thanks & peace

The old skool name for those hats are "APPLE JACKS" You can also get away wearigna "NEWSBOY" hat but I'm sure that's not your first choice.

In NYC a lot of those funky hats are sold in magic stores that cater to magicians, jugglers and other live performers. High end stores that sell costumes (not the "kiddie costume stores) also sell this stuff.
You could also go throlling around in thriff shops and 2nd had stores.
If you are really serious you can call or go on line to a store called
DUBE at 520 Bway in NYC they are a juggling store that sells a lot of items.
You can also look under clown supplies or gear for these items.
I've noticed also that a lot of "dreads" where these hats in NYC if you have any Dreadlocked Rasta where you live, go up to em and ask em where thy get those funky hats!?

...I have bought several normal sociable hats in fashion complements shop.
There are so manny styles of hat. Try to make your own style of wearing. You could choose of many caps and hats.

There you also could find silk white gloves for electric boogaloo. Normally the gloves was designed to wear with "evenig dress"....but they look DAMM GOOD.
This shop you might find in every bigger mall or shop street. Guys you should have more opportunities to wear stylish than Slovak guys...

I was wondering about locking leather gloves. The gloves which you could find in the movie BREAKIN. Shabadoo/Ozone/ and also Turbo was wearing them. This "perforated, black gloves without fingers" are used for motorbike drivers. You could find them in Motorbike shops with accessories...

I hope that my post will help to all style dancers...

I was gonna make a new thread about this, but I figured I might as well piggy-back on this one instead.

What about style in general? I've seen guys in crazy outfits, colorful suits, and strange cominations of clothes. I was wondering what the general trend was, or if strange/uniqueness was the trend. The one thing I notice is that everything seems to have a 1950's feel to it, like zoot suits and hats and whatnot. I guess my question is really just to find out what kind of styles you guys are using out there.
