lock, cock and two smoking hunnies - 11-22-2005, 08:07 PM

Just wanted to give some feedback on this site... its good to see that if you look hard enough theres quite alot of locking material out there. I used to break in 96-99, then i quit... Ive been out of action for a while but i always wanted to learn locking, there really isnt much material and in australia, not many cats are doing it. in the last few weeks ive been collecting all the clips i can on the net got nearly 1gigs now. and am thinking of purchasing some of the skeeter rabbit (old school dictionary) tutorial vids. any thoughts on good tute vids?

The faq by wavedash is very helpful, I have a basic understanding of all the moves hes written about already and am waiting for the next installments. There are still loads of move names that i dont know how to visually identify. it would be great to see the complete list of moves and their description

http://www.nustudios.com/forums/arch...php/t-485.html

Also it would be good to see a list of tracks split into songs that OG lockers used maybe up to the 80's and then maybe tracks that lockers currently danced too. I already heard alot of tracks here and there, but no consolidated authority on the music that the og lockers used.

anyway just wanted to give my thoughts..
peace,

ssswift

ps. where can you buy those oversized apple boy hats?

these are interesting questions that seem to crop up again and again about locking. the number of resources for people interested in locking is certainly much less than, say, for b-boying and b-girling.

maybe that's what we need work on in our locking room - to develop:
- a glossary of locking moves (names and a basic description)
- a list of 'locking songs'
- a list of online video clips/DVD resources (and maybe where you can buy them)
- a list of classes where you can learn locking
- a list of where you can buy apple hats and stripey tops!

i know some of this stuff is scattered across the internet but i think it would be helpful for a lot of people to bring it all together!

Locking tracks? Just pick an oldschool funk cut or try some uptempo R&B. Lockers act like they're allergic to newer music, c'mon fellas.

I realise you can dance to anything these days...I prefer the disco, electrofunk tracks myself since i like the music anyway. But my question was referring to a comprehensive list of the tracks that OG lockers used back in the 70's, and maybe 80's.

thanks for the info on the hats although im in australia.

Fantastic Poppers have created this list which seems like a good starting point for a list of tracks
