Locking Dictionary Idea - 11-20-2005, 11:25 AM

I'm pretty brand, spanking new to the world of locking. The Campbellocking Tutorial is very informative, but since I'm so new to locking, I have trouble visualizing the moves. I think some kind of video/image dictionary of locking moves would be pretty helpful. Just a basic, "This is a Lock, this is an Up" sort of thing. A wide range of moves could be demonstrated in a very short video/slideshow.

I'm just wondering if anyone is interested in this idea, or could produce this. I wouldn't imagin it taking a lot of time or energy. Lemme know what you think.

Invent released an edited version of a compliation of clips that only retains locking moves; if I'm not mistaken Greg Campbellock Jr. and Suga Pop are the ones demonstrating. However, it would still be an asset to have such a video floating around on the board! Once I get my laptop and a webcam I'd love to demonstrate my take on those classic moves. I say "take" because I'm not sure how they relate in comparison to the classic moves from which I derive them. =)

Anyway, I'm very interested in this idea as well.

there is a dvd out called 'old school dictionary' with EB skeeter rabbit and flomaster that isolates locking 14 moves: wrist rolls, the lock, skeeter rabbit, scooby doo, pimp walk, point, five, scoobot and a few others. it's already been done. I'd recommend that....

Isnt Sugar Pop's style the closest (out of the EBs) to the original Lockers?

A few definition that i use to describe dance in general

Dance: Movements done to portray the music.
Dance styles: Specific movements done to portray the music.

There's already a bboy wiki on this website - it would be good if we can get locking represented too, especially as a lot of questions on this forum are about names of moves, and basic queries about particular moves. What do you think?
