KOBO 2009 Final

Kevetic vs. EddFSC

General Rules and Setup

* The battle will be three rounds.
* Rounds can be as long as you want.
* You can not use a battle clip as one of your rounds (You should be battling your opponent, not someone else).
* The person with the earliest deadline goes first, followed by the 2nd bboy once their round is posted. You cannot post 2 sets in a row.
* There will be no time extensions. NO EXCEPTIONS! I don't care if you have a test to study for, your dog ate your computer or your camera is broken. You will have until the deadline to post each video.
* All deadlines are 11:59PM, Eastern Standard Time!
* If you have any questions regarding these rules, PM me.

I've been overseas without internet for the most part of these past 3 weeks so I haven't been able to keep up with the battle. However, I will be back in the states tomorrow, and I'll be able to judge soon enough. Good timing!

If I were to dissect this battle as a whole, it would be close, but since it is the finals, everyone is tired of waiting, and because I simply don't like when judges call ties regardless of how close the battle was.

I'm going to give it to Kevetic. In my eyes, he won two rounds of three.

As for what I saw from both of them.

Kevetic simply brought more to the table. He had relatively new ideas compared to previous rounds whereas the only thing that stood out from Edd was the slide in his last round. It was probably one of the dopest moves I've seen all competition, but it won't win a battle.

As for musicality, both guys were on point with dancing to the music. Kevetic just danced to it better by putting varying levels of emphasis on his movements correlating with the music.

Execution was rather even. Both were clean, but had several times where the motion just seemed forced and unnatural.

So once again.

Sorry also for the wait guys! Finally been able to sit down and watch all the rounds.
This was a great match up and of course great match ups make it hard to judge.
Both of you show incredible talent and are both very well rounded.

Edd: i love how aggressive you come out in your rounds. Your tops all the way down to your footwork show attitude and that pure battle mentality. I have no doubt that you are a hungry battler and a good battler at that. I can really appreciate your style and im sure you strike intimidation in most of you opponents!

Kevetic: You've got this laid back sort of dance style, its very smooth to watch! you are calm and you come correct and then you explode on the floor, its like ur tops are the calm before the storm. A lot of dope bboys share this same mannerism. You know how to disect your opponent and you apply your moves to your enemy, thats battling!

Round per round it was again tough, Edd you had some very fast paced moves and you know your body, i can tell some areas where you kinda flubbed a little bit but u played it off! you didnt give up yet you played it thru.
Kevetic, your moves were at a nice pace and your execution added that punctuation.
Both have musicality and acknowledged the music! something all bboys as dancers should do, and you guys do it well!

My vote will have to go to
KEVETIC
the match up again was great, but i feel kevetic edged each round showing a great flow and of course a great arsenal. (notice how i said edged, because it wasnt a roast or domination, each bboy held their own!)
