Vote: Kev1
Champloo: Your dancing seemed much more natural than Kev1's. However, that was the only thing I saw that you had an advantage over him on. Your footwork was based off generic and simple steps which overall made it look the same both your rounds and your showcase. There were some moments in your rounds that stood out however. Your musicality was apparent, but not enough to put it over Kev1. Kev1: You won the battle based off the intricacy of your steps and your versatility of your moves. However, like I stated before, your dancing seemed awkward, almost forced. Also, careful with your walkover/halo and chair freeze. You've been doing both frequently. EDIT: Just to clarify. This battle WAS close in my eyes. |

ok first let me start off by saying good job. Def a very close battle for me, and it was tough making a decision. let me break it down a little.
Kev1: In this battle you prove to be a pretty well rounded bboy, which is important in my eyes because a good bboy should be able to handle any opponent whether it be with power, tops, or footwork. being well rounded shows a person who understands the foundation and the roots. I love in round one how u were calm and then u came out HARD as shit! thats that fire that i really enjoy watching! WHen you got onto the floor, u had some creative techs but it got a little sloppy/choppy at some parts (about 10-12 secs in) word of advice, in a battle if you want to advance...you gotta switch up your endings man. Your showcase and in these rounds you have a habit of doing a partial halo to and head freeze. Ur halo tricks are dope, but if u keep doing it, shits gonna be madd repetitive and boring...in the ending causing u to lose that "wow" factor and points from judges. Switch it up play around with it. cut n paste. YOu know your strong points, its obvious...but use it to ur advantage and create new explosive/dynamic sets. Champloo: I dont know where to start bro, Your dancing is on POINT and ur musicality is a gift bro! Def a strong asset of yours and i HIGHLY recommend keeping it up. Your a natural born dancer and you know how to tell the story of the music with you body. Again that is a valuable tool when it comes to bboying. Doing moves to the music will heighten the moves and make you THAT more explosive! Its hard to find bboys who know how to use this tool. I love your movements and your "get downs". The transitions are smooth and your footwork is CLEAN! This leads to where your areas of oppurtunity come in. Footwork techs are clean but basic. ur zulu spins are fast but i wanna see some more CHAMPLOO! bring out that personality into the floor bro, create and be unique! u dont have to be complex...dont get me wrong, but like i said to Kev...cut and paste use your strong points to build more personal sets! If you look at born and casper, they both are beat killers and footwork experts, they mix it up and the come hard with their footwork! but they dont use the same techs over and over! transitions and the use of momentum will be your best friend bro! You both got madd talent and skills! it kills me to have to pick one over the other, but please dont use this judgement to determine how good you are. Use this judgement as a tool to inspire and to improve! In the end, you are your best/worst critic. Take it to the next level fellas! but for now, my vote goes to: KEV 1 reason: Came out hard, battled to win, well rounded, ended strong, incorporated intricate techs in footwork. A strong battler, please work on dif endings! champloo: keep doin what u do bro! like i said, play with your transitions and techs! if you wanna hit me up, i would love to offer you some strategies i use to create new techs and transitions! |

In my opinion, this was a very close battle. Both of you had really good stuff, but I would give the final vote to Kev1, not that it really matters at this point since it was 2-0.
Kev1- Your dancing seemed kind of rigid and not as fluid as Champloo, but what you lost in general smoothness you made up in versatility. With that being said, running moves (your halo headfreeze) could possibly mean that you're running out of stuff already. I withhold judgment on that since what you did is pretty advanced so I expect that you have much more. Your power is on point and you have good original techs…at least in your first round. Your rolling around in the second round was iffy..but you saved yourself by finishing strong Champloo- Your dancing was NICE. Fluid, fast, clean, but repetitive. You could be much more creative with your stuff and show off more of you, just like goof said. Also, you showed little to no freezes. What I learned from poe1 is your toprock is the start of your story, the getdowns, footwork, dynamics are the plot, etc, and your freeze is the period. You told a story but left me with a "to be continued". Other than that your dancing was smooth, and some strategy was used. But what brought you down was that you were not as well rounded as Kev1.
