i vote slink.

both of you had really good sets and this too was a close battle.

slink was cleaner and had me in awe when he did that freeze, mill, freeze thing in his first set. also his musicality was there and also had more of a battle mentality. he was fast and to the point with his movements. your airfreeze was sharp, and your flip was so dope it changed the color of the camera hah. your directionality was good ex. when you did that jump, you kept eye contact with the camera. overall very solid

blu, i liked your wide array of moves. but you were a bit sloppy especially with your power in your second set. from what i could tell, you were hitting the beats, but these are the points that i docked you on. your airchair wasn't facing the camera. directionality. you want to be hitting your freezes towards your opponent to show them *bam* i just smoked you with this freeze or whatever. also, i would have to say hit your freezes harder. your rollback was slow and predictable. if you changed your position while holding that freeze it would have been nasty. and running your flares in the same battle

Yeah this is definitely a tough one! Really because we have 2 TOP notch bboys battling it out for their first rounds. I love how explosive you both are and how aggressive your moves are. This is the kind of match up, that if it were in real life...everyone would stop what they were doing, get up outta their seats and to crowd around the battle fora hype match! If it would ever be possible, id like to see you both throw down face to face!

time to break it down!

Slink: you come with that FIRE!!! in the 2nd clip i love how you countered blu's flip with ur own flip, and u did it TO the camera, directing and applying the move to him! THATS WHAT IM TALKIN ABOUT!!! In the first clip that ending power trick really made me go, WTF lol Thats a move i can really appreciate because of the flow from the side freeze pop onto ur back back into a side glide and into ur footwork, but u coulda ended harder after that.
Now I really like how you hit the beats, but hitting the obvious beats dont mean u know the music or are really fully USING the music. This is a dance, so groove more with it! ur steps are fierce but seems generic at times, like first clip 13 seconds in, that lil double step is very plain and is more of like a last minute "gotta hit this beat" move. Use the creativity i know you have to hit that beat, think outside the box and like i said groove with it. Your 2nd clip, you coulda added more IMO. You know what your opponent is capable of, ex: Blu is well verse in power, blow ups, and dancing...answer to him and give him something! fire back at him and show him why YOU should win! a short 2nd clip with some foots and a freeze to the beat! You gotta bring some more fire into the set itself bro, give him the answer to everything!

Blu: Judging you is tough because i know you in person and i know what you are capable of. Right now i am judging you for THIS battle alone, and against this particular opponent.
Your dancing in this battle is awesome! You're very natural when your dancing and It shows that you dont have to think about what ur doing, u just flow with it! Your personality carries with you from the top to the bottom, and thats what great dancers do! A lot of times bboys may rock it like hell up top, but once they get down they lose that fire and it looks like they are a totally diff person (vice versa), but with you I see blu dancing up top, and i see blu's footwork style. THats character!
The weak points in your battle is the cleanliness bro. First clip 8-9 seconds in..that thread totally threw your flow off and made no sense to me. The under the leg thread to grab your foot..and you just let ur foot go? If you gonna do techs like that, you gain the audience's attention, you got my attention with that tech/thread but i expected something out of it, maybe into power or a freeze. You show ur versatility but that 2nd flair got a lil sloppy in the 2nd clip...but 12 secs in on clip 2...that FOOT GRAB to munch bounce was sick! and you stuck the hell outta that last freeze!

I keep watching this battle over and over, and at some points i think i have my winner, but then i re watch and my decision changes. This is too close for me to make a comfortable decision.
if at all possible i would like to see a tie breaker, one set each....bring that fire and make me want to pick YOU to advance..

My vote goes to Slink.
Blu, you had more personality when it came to your runs. However, Slink backed his runs up with execution and cleaner transitions. Move-wise, Blue edged out a bit simply with more variety. Footwork, I had Slink winning hands down with cleanliness, variety, and it was just more pleasing to the eyes. For up top, I would give it to Slink as well. More variation pretty much. As for musicality, it's hard to judge Blu since he says the sound was off. Slinky was definitely hitting his beats and also hit some key parts hard. From what I could decipher, Blu *looked* like he was hitting the beats. Nothing out of the basics however. Overall, Slink just outdid Blu in more aspects of the dance.

Vote: Slink
