I really like the way you break this down, I've had trouble controlling kick ups for a while but I think watching this guide just made me realize my mistake, I'll check back tomorrow and tell you how it went.

So lets see...this is the first time I'm ever doing kip ups. Do i have the form down? I know I'm not kicking enough...and I don't think I'm getting the tuck under my legs...also not bringing my chest up with my legs... Is there any special thing i should do before i go back and practice for some more back banging fun? It doest hurt aha it just kind of gets annoying after awhile...so any tips would help
Thanks... |

1) You need to put more power and speed into throwing your legs. everytime you do it think about putting ALL of your energy and speed into throwing your legs up (until you start to do it successfully everytime, then you can use less energy), and also keep trying to bring that chest up a little more. 2) That floor looks like a bad place to practice for a couple reasons. 1 is that your shirt on that floor and cause you to go sliding backwards, making you not put as much energy into the kip up because you dont want to slide. also the floor is hard, which can make you become slightly afraid of landing on your back. which brings me to my next point 3) the more afriad you are of landing on your back, the less you will bring your chest up because if you fail, the higher your chest is, the farther down it will fall making it more painful. try something atleast a little softer like grass or carpet. you are close. keep working on it and remember, speed and power. you almost had it one time there which proves that you can do it with a little more force and energy into it. if you know you can do the move then it becomes easier. keep me posted with newer vids if you are still having problems and i will try to help ![]() |

well i think the reason is because i was practicing my mills before hand but im not going to make excuses... I'll definately get it tonight. And i'm not afraid of the floor ahaha but u are right it is quite slippery... i was trying to also practice my valdez and when i was in bridge position my feet would slip

hey just a little tip i wanna add that i havent seen posted yet. the real secret in my opinion is that you dont want to push off with your arms until a split second after you launch with your legs and you can already feel your body lifting up just barely. from this point the arms just give your upper body that boost and also help level you out. anyway thats just me, do it how you want. peace.
