hey all

ive been trying my kip ups for about 5-10 min each day for about 6 days already, but there seem to be something important i missed/misread on the guides. at first, when i just finished reading a guide, my kip ups looked real crappy. i always landed on my back. then i read from somewhere else that while ur kicking ur legs, u also needed to arch ur back. i tried that, and it helped me lift my upper body a lil more, but the farthest i could land on is my butt.

well, i could practice more and more, but im just wondering if im in the right track so far... im just wondering if i just need to build more strength for momentum, or is there some important step i missed.

heres a clip u can judge my kipup on. any pointers, or assuring that all i need is just to practice and build more strength, is greatly appreciated. thanks.

yea dude i have the same problem

i cant get my upper body up

but with me, i land on my feet but i fall back down because my upper body drags me down

idk never had the butt thing

fuck the kip up! its awesome but a bitch to learn!

u gotta be able to stand from a bridge, im sure of it

Ok, first of all, it kinda helps if we can see your upper body (hands and head). As of now, it seems like your kicking too much out instead of up. Also, come to a complete stop before you kick. You're starting to move forward again. You lose power that way. Also make sure you push off HARD with your hands and bend your legs more when youre going for the landing.

eyyzzzzz soz but i disagree...i dont stand from backbridge 2 do mi kip-upz and they're puurfect but if it helps and pplz should try it. I mean - every1s diff chu all kno dat!!
oh and i think ure kicking off too late also....try watchin pro'z doin kip-upz...dey rock! i use the mike garcia series...itz gr8 no matta wot ppl sai!!

in all kip up vids,

how are his hands leaving the floor like that?

i knows its the push but u have to be pretty strong to push off like that

i mean thats like doin a bridge and exploding out of the push right?

thats my main concern, getting my upper body up and forward, if i can do that, i can land it

looks like a lot of strength

i got them today, or i was landing some good ones,
most of em i was matrix style and couldnt get up completely but some i overshot onto my knees, did one so i had to run forward, and landed crouched to stand

but the gay thing is

i had em goin so well

then i took a break
then practiced for like 2 hr straight and landed like 2/50! i lost it

the bitchy thing is i forget the technique when i do em uber good

damnit

i lost it, i had em goin so well for like an hr and then i lost it

hey, heres another clip of me and my whole body this time.
about that kicking too out instead of up, yea im gonna try that then. on this newer clip, am i still kicking too out? heh sorry for being too newbielike. also, for that come to the complete stop b4 i kick, did i do that right in this clip? or should i do it sooner/later? heh sorry, but i dont see what u mean... im confused..

i got my hopes up that i was landing a kip up because it felt like it and everything

but i dont have a REAL kip up kicking straight up from your shoulders:which is much harder to do then

lying on your back and kicking to your feet, ive been doin this and kicking so much out

i havent been going from my shoulders and kicking straight up
i feel like im cheating and i probably am

Nope, you dont need to stand from a bridge. The force of your legs being forced towards the ground snaps your upper body up, which is already moving up because you push off with your hands. And then when you reach the optimum height for your upper body, the force brings you vertical (standing)

I can kip up now!!! Just practice and you will do it in a matter of days! once you got it you dont lose it well... i dont

you dont need to be able to do the bridge i can get up easily and i cant even attempt the brisdge but i think i do it weird i just over power everything...........it makes it easier for me but it makes rubber bands harder because i go so high i still cant do them because of the height i get saddly but i just think i need to work on my flexability lol but to do just a kip up i never needed to do the bridge if you never plan on learning the rubberband then donw worry about the bridge but if you want it then learn it lol sorry im just weird lol im not sure for sure if you need it for rubberband but i think you do im assuming so becuase if you get too high it is hard to land back .........
when i do them i get so high that i dont need to have any flexabiliy lol it works great for pictures because im moving over such a large distance lol i have a few pictures of me at 90 degrees but they are hard coppys so i cant put them on here saddly i would love to show them off lol........when i get a scaner or digital cammera i will post them ok.....

first you need to learn to kip up not only out first try this lay on your bed and with out your arms kip up and try to get as high as you can.....then after you get that preaty high try to flip over with out your hands..........then after you think you got that preatty good then you can try it on the hard surface it will feel diffrent at first but you will have the form down mostly from the bed...you will still need to bring up your srtength but it will come in time......im sorry but if i had a video i would post it but i dfont have a camera like that only still pictures....sorry.......but if anyone has a video with great kip up and rolling kip up and anything that has to do with kipups then i would love to see them also so would these other people...
