A Very Helpful Tip For Newbs - 03-13-2004, 10:26 PM

i was teachin my friend how to do kickups and he almost had it but couldnt quiet get all the way up...when i was learnin these i found that it is much easier to practice them with shoes ON this helps you get that extra oomph to get up ...this is because the weight throws you a bit more...my friend put shoes on and then he could do it(with shoes requires less power ...without shoes u need to kick a lot harder) practice with shoes so u know how to do it..then try without shoes which will give you better technique when you have shoes on becasue it will be even easier...let me know if this helps beause it helped me and my friend

Its quite good 2 do it wit shoes, cuz you slip less after landing, but there is actually no real different in doing kip-ups wit shoes or not. Well, maybe it does give u some extra momentum, but its really small. Me, I find not real differents whatsoever. Peace

also the ground u do it on makes difference.

I practised on carpet heaps and wasn't that good cos u slip a bit. but then i did it on hard ground like floorboards and its was easier

after reading abt shoes i tried, al it does for me is soften the landing on the feet. then i tried with industrial shoes with steel caps *momentum* and it was harder, duh!
