So push up hard with your head (and hands if you use them) and snap your torso up as soon as you feel your upper back starting to leave the ground xP

try to feel yourself going into standing! :-D
try to do it alll at the same time, when you snap your legs, just before your feet hit the floor, bring your head forward, and put your weight in your feet before you actually hit your feet the floor.

If you have a long torso and short legs, it maybe harder. Body type plays a role in breaking just as in all athletic activities.

Loser's additions:
-push with your arms/head after you have your legs kicking diagnal
-tuck your legs in to your chest while your lying on your back. This gives you more of a spring instead of a swing. (mathematically, the aerodinamics of your legs has much more wind resistance if theyre are extended from start.)
-bend your legs when your land. This gives you some margin for error because it will take you longer to hit the ground. Doesn't look as smooth, but hey, its better than nothin'. Helps you get the other steps right.
-when doing no handers, have your hands in the air in fists and move with your legs, giving you more speed and momentum.

it took me a long time to learn the kip up (3 months) so keep trying. but i went through stages.... basically i started to do them on my bed, then a carpet with a pillow on my head (u will land on ur head at first), than a towel, then just carpet, then anywhere.
Keep at it... its propobly my slickest move and looks awesome at partays and what not.

execellent guide ive only tried them for like 15 min and i almost got them.

tips: strech ur arms before u do this or jus be flexible. I learned that with unflexible shoulders it is very hard to do these.

on flexibility help do this: lay on the ground
bend ur knees and put ur hands behind ur shoulders
push upwards wit ur hands
ull do an arch just on ur back
this helps flexiblility a lot.

once again great guide

The sky is the limit
When u get there tell me

the ARMS are whats used to push your upper body up, when you spring your legs push your upper body up with your arms, feel like you're doing a pushup, that is, trying to support the upward movement of your upper torso with your arms pushing downward toward the floor.

if you think you have the basic motion down, just keep on practicing. When you get super hyped, like at school, and you have all this energy, try it, you will probably land it. And you will remember what it feels like, so sooner or later you will be able to kip up whenever you want.

heres some tips off the top of my head:
- took me bout 3-4 weeks...
- roll back into the position you will be kicking up from, when you roll back the
shape of your body will naturally stop you and the momentum of rolling
backwards will be transfered into a forward motion. This is when you should
kick, when you stop rolling backwards.
- bend your legs, straight legged kipups are a lot harder.
- wear shoes (later when you do straight legged kipups they may weigh you
down, but for bent legs shoes help)
- if you are landing in a position where your butt and feet hit the floor in a
squating position and you don't fall backwards, you are almost there! you
need to get pumped.
