hey guys i know this is a stupid ques but to get your kicking leg closer to your head, you have to just kick hard from the beginning?and when you kick, you have to just kick straight up or kick up in a sort of circle? and what are some streches for getting the flexebility to put your leg next to your head?is it necessary to step back with your leg?, and do you by force have to do d l kick with your strongest arm?example if your right handed your right hand will be on the ground.phew lots of ques but ANY info GREATLY apreciated!

so many questions in one post! lol :P
its all about flexibility if you want ur leg closer to ur head. If u have flex, u don't even have to kick hard. Stretch you hamstrings. Stretch 1: Stand up straight, and swing ur leg up towards ur head while keeping ur leg straight. You should feel a stretch in the back of ur leg. Make sure u warm up first! This stretch will also get u used to the leg motion for L /Nike kicks Stretch 2: Stand up straight, and touch ur toes while keeping ur legs straight. Again, make sure u warm up first. Stepping back with ur leg gives u abit of momentum. Once u get better, u'll find that u won't really have to step back much. Use whatever hand u feel comfortable with. Im right handed, and i use my left hand :P so yeah.... |

My L kick guide Breakin' was something that society didn't know about, it was something too new for them to even understand, and because of their ignorance to it and lack of knowledge about it, they got scared, and the first thing they do when they get scared about something is to try and stop it... |

Hey I've been practicing the L-Kick and I just have two questions: Does it affect you at all about the distance you place your hand from the body to do a L-kick? And where should I place my hand-- like anywhere thats comfortable or is there a specific distance to make my L kicks the best? And also is there any tips to keep your balance because everytime I kick up and just dude like a wierd cartwheel thingy or just my leg goes over too much. lol.

@ Dweidran: u just need to keep practicing it. it will come. maybe ur turning ur hips too soon? swing up first, then turn ur hips.
@ elements201: if u place ur hand close to u, u dont have to swing up that hard. if u place it further, u hav to swing slightly harder. so it doesn't really matter where u place it. u just have to experiment a little, and get used to the l kick position. if ur doing a weird carthweel thingy, then maybe ur swinging too hard. r u turning ur hips and kicking ur leg towards ur head? if ur doing that, it should freeze u in the L kick position. hope that helped. maybe u guys could post a video? so i can give more specific advice ![]() |
