Full Kicks Guide

Hi i think i had a dumb guide earilier here so i wanted to get this guide here i hope it helps you much , and thanks for visiting .
im sorry that i stole the name from the windmill one but i really needed it cause it is a reborn for a rusty dumb old guide .
Its a beginner guide though it "might" help other than noobs , and its my first guide here so forgive me if i mistaked in whatever.

_ _ _ ,.'*&KiCks&*'-.,_ _ _

Well , kicks ( l - Y - K ) are so close to each other , once u got one of them down , u'll easely get others after that so focus on one of them first

first of , i'll get two guides fore it , one i made and other some else bboy did fore the l-kick , i think that would give u a better idea of how simple this is

ok
=====

_-::L-kick::-_
Here are pics to give u the look of some l kicks :

====

My guide:
its a batidu (brazillian marshal arts ) move , Do it with style to get it in bboyin , of course ppl say how long am i supposed to hold that , its not a freeze untill u mean it is when u do it , so u'll useually get it for like 2 - 5 secs like a normal one , it goes a freeze and a kick at the same time .U need to be able to do a cartwheel first , some ppl dont know that and say it isnt a ( half cartwheel ) well i agree with them but i know that i cant do kick with my right hand and so cant do cartwheels thats why i think its important that u know a chartwheel first. heres why :
to be able to do an l kick u need to know howto swing , like in cartwheels ,thats why u need to know them first , swinging is the first thing u do.
=====

heres how kicks Go :
Step one :
The swing , smoothly get the swing on the ground and get it well , try doing the swing and freeze for practicing then when u get it good , move on to the next step .
Step two :
The Flick , (u do it with the L kick , if ur willing to learn another kick move to the next step ) , quite simple when u know what it is , it sounds as it get bronounced after u swing , flick ur legs closer to your body as like u want to kick above your head , dont be afraid u'll never kick ur head , just flick it in a kick to get it in an l shape on the other side , or on the same side , wichever u like . and by doing that , after practicing on it well hard u'll be able to do an l-kick
Step three:
_-::Y kick and K kick::-_ :
going from an l kick to them is so simple after u master it , u simply " Flick " higher than its supposed to , I think u got the idea but not well , here , u simply swing , flick high and raise your hand to shape a line with the swinged on ( ARM ) to get the " K " letter shape , and for the Y kick u flick but not wide , and u get ur hand on your body or far away as u like , just try shaping the letter " Y " , i hope u got the idea.
=====

Heres another guide for l kciks to insure that u get the idea
Kid~Breaker's Lkick guide :

This move originated in Capoeira (Brazilian Martial Arts) in which it is known as Au Batido (`ow bachito).
It's really not easy but when mastered you're a damn good breaker.

1. Stand with your hand above your head.
2. Swing it down to the ground (at that time do a one handed hand stand.)
3. Bring your legs up to a 90 degree angle.
4. Stay up in that position for a few seconds (if you look at your legs sideways they look like an L.)

Keep practicing the L-Kick or you'll hurt yourself if you haven't practiced.

======
Forearm kicks
Doing them is more simple
do the swing normally but on your forearm when ur sitting with ur hips off the ground and on your toes , or goto a one handed forearm stand the split a kicked flick to shape whatever Letter " L - K - Y -" ask if it gets difficult,
======
Elbow Kicks :
to do this i advise u to get the elbow airchairs down first and after u learn them to go for it the same way but with a kick and try using your hand for help , u may seriously get injured with this , so dont try it on hard surfaces unless u mastered them

======
Jackhammer lKick , The hopping Lkick:
Not much to learn about , but its a hard move that i cant do my self , though i saw it in france2004 some yellow shirt guy was doing it i think it goes like this :
first u'll have to be able to hold a n l kick properly , get to 3 secs of holding it would b fine , after u do an l kick start hopping by kicking your legs like in the 1990s , its similar to them , its like a one handed 1990's L kicked , it needs time to learn so i hope i helped u in this , i hope im helping my self too
=======

If u were asking for pics and videos u can find dosens houndreds of them right in the gallery from this link :
http://www.bboy.org/gallery/showgall...type=1&si=kick

=======

i hope That helped u , and i hope it gets sticky, any questions are welcome here , Good Luck ...

much better guide......than the first.....u should have still tried to show persons how to do the L-kick in more detail....cause thats the first thing they need to learn....the other things are mainly for ppl who know how to L-kick already and are looking for variations

L kicks come by thier own , i just came to give some not quite alot but " Some " details in normal l kicking , the style of it is created by its own bboy , so if i detailed it they would take my style not create thier own , thats why i had alot of pics , not to teach a single style , i know that there are alot of varations i only had few ,but im willing to answer any difficult thing that happens in this move , well , thanks for replieing , and 4 the tips ...

u really dont get me do u - 09-01-2004, 12:59 AM

L kicks dont come on their own unless u wouldnt create the guide lol......for some i guess they can but guides are created for those who cant get it on their own.....another thing is no one cant steal your style unless its a variation....everything has a basis....and no one cant copy u perfectly cause we are all unique.......lemme show u my guide from an earlier post so u understand me

L-kicks are easy jus try to put that in your brain

The L-kick is originated from capoeira (the capoeira name is aubatido). There are like three main variations to the aubatido (develop maninly from breaking)...these being the L-kick where two of your feet are form an "L"......then there is the k-kick which calls for more flexibility which is shape like a wide L or a K with a segment missing....then they are Nikes where the kicking leg keeps straight but the trailing leg bends....look at the pics.....this is my first time posting more than one pic so bear wit me.

pre-requisites for the L-kick is to learn handstands (for stability not actually need), cartwheels and one hand cartwheels to get the feeling of the move (not really needed either lol but gives more of an advantage).

when beginning, to get the feel of the move......go down slowly and place your hand on the ground and try to kick over (dont actually do the kick but jus give a little jump so u get the feel of the move).....make sure u dont place your hand directly horizontal, unless it might happen that your hips are prevented from turning over.

Im goin to explain as if im goin to my right side (i can do both sides but right is my best).

1. Rock to your left jus slighty jus to get a lil stretch reflex so u could get momentum when u place down your hand.

2. Place your hand down slighty infront of you to the right and dont think about going right over like a cartwheel unless your kick is gonna look ugly and u wouldnt b able to freeze the kick either.

3. The placing of your hand is more like a hop and what u have to do is slightly.....VERY SLIGHTLY.....hop onto your hand...but really its more hoppin off the floor with the feet than onto the hand...this means only when u are like 2 inches u jump off the floor.

4. When do that slight hop off the floor and u have place your hand down...kick your leg over towards your head....try to make sure your trailing leg is not doing anything as yet.

5. Many say they dont have the flexibility to get this kick done but most of the time the need to turn over their hip....so when u kick turn over your hip....this is so your leg like your knee would touch your obliques or intercoastals (your side lol).

6. To turn over your hips let them rock back slightly.....REMEMBER I SAID HIPS NOT TRAILING LEG, until u feel a tightness like a lock.....this is what gives the freeze.....when your hips rock bak u dont only turn over but u get the freeze aspect

Two tips:
When u place your hand on the ground try place it very close to your feet (i make the slight hop so my hand goes like where my trailing leg was).

When u go into the kick try not to think about getting inverted (vertical)...think about being horizontal....be ready to take a few falls...only a few trust me.

i cant post the pics now but i'll do that lata L-kicks are easy jus try to put that in your brain
